We had come to Glastonbury for the day and I knew there were several Vegan Cafes to choose from. We'd previously looked this place up last year for something else so knew it existed and when we happened to come across it just around late lunch time, we had to try it.
It's situated next to Trinity Crystals down the Monarch way through a wonderful tunel. It's a lovely space and there are plenty of signs to guide you. It's nice and local to the shops and easy to get to.
The food - The menu is what you would expect in terms of variety, there's pannis, salad bowls, pasties, all day breakfasts, kebabs and so much more. We had the loaded fries with tofu kebab 'meat' and garlic mayo, which was so packed with flavour and so filling. Definitely a choice I would recommend. I also had a soya latte which was smooth, not bitter and just the right balance of flavour. They also sell Hullabaloos lemonade of whom are also a local Somerset Company, brilliant product.
The cabinet was filled with cakes, pies, rolls and desserts which all sounded so good that choosing was a difficulty. My wife had a biscoff cheese cake and I opted for a gozillianaire (I think it was called) slice to take away as I was full but there was no way I was leaving empty handed.
There are gluten free options along the menu and I have no doubt that if you need help due to dietary requirements, they would do their best to help you. The staff are all lovely and very approachable.
The cafe - A few nice touches I admired such as the sliding door which is nice and wide for easy entry and you're not battling for space unlike a door on hinges. There are cushion pads on the benches which are movable and the tables themselves are like boothes blocking out other people, giving you that intimate experience while still feeling a touch of the cafe atmosphere. The decor is open, simple but still very inviting.
We aren't vegan but we do eat a variety of foods across the lifestyle categories due to allergies and my advice to anyone no matter preference is to go and try it for yourself. Especially if you have a general love of food because it is...
Read moreAmazing place! Great variety for types of meals - you can have breakfast or a salad or traditional English food, but in the moral vegan way. Everything was very tastey! I rarely eat pastries, but they looked so delicious here I had to try them all. The picture of the ball was also a traditional dish made into vegan. Also the team was super nice to us and said yes to various favors I needed while staying there, also preparing food to me and a friend when we came right before closing. I bless this place for being the first and only 100% vegan in Glastonbury and hope many more places will turn to be vegan and moral very soon. One more thing to mention is that the place closes usually in the afternoon, so I hope in the future they will decide to hire more staff and keep it open in the evenings and nights when I hung around with friends and there weren't many...
Read moreOn a rainy day, my friends and I stopped into the outdoor garden to make a formula bottle for my 6 month old baby. We didn’t sit down because one of the customers had a dog, and my friend has fear of them so we chose to stand whilst making the bottle but with every intention of finding an suitable place to sit and order drinks.
Two women bought out plates of food for customers already sat down. Upon walking back, my friend heard one of them say to the other in a really harsh, rude voice, “are they ordering something to eat in OUR garden”. It was very unpleasant, extremely rude and unwelcoming.
The other lady came to ask if we weren’t ordering anything, needless to say we didn’t stick around where we were not welcomed and where people sadly came across as...
