The food is normally very good, but - unfortunately - your individual server can make or mar the whole experience! My first meal there was excellent, served by a competent professional female server. I tried on subsequent days to return, but was put off by the excessively long waiting queues. When I eventually did get in, I ordered the exact same meal, and served by a v' young petite girl with short dark hair. She was hopeless, no ramekin dishes used, just a - questionable - table spoon, v'small portions, very sloppy, oily presentation, yuck! ..As for the bread, rather than giving me a fresh granary baton, sliced, like the previous server, she just sliced the top piece of a well used loaf. It was dry, tasteless and imo unhygienic. The top slice needed discarding. Obviously undertrained, and unengaged. What a shame! What A great...

Five star service. I have been craving a good vegan chocolate cake for some time and the one here at Rainbows End Cafe hit the spot. It had the correct level of moistness and balance of flavour. It is that lovely flavour of a well baked home made cake without the commitment to eat the whole thing! I got a slice to go as I wanted to enjoy it at home after having a lovely lunch with my boyfriend. The staff were most accommodating and explained to me the menu and even gave suggestions on what to order.

I had a stuffed aubergine with a bean salad which was very hearty and delicious. It’s a wonderful place to get a healthy and hearty meal with a warm cafe and very clean toilets.

Anyway, my main review is the cake. If you’re vegan and have been craving that chocolate goodness for a while head over to here and get your fill!...

November 2023. I love visiting Rainbows' end. The salads always suprise me and make me want more and more. The only negative thing is the service and speed of serving. It's a funny thing. You can have relaxed but then you can have almost stopped. Wont stop me coming in as both myself and my partner enjoy it too much. Just speed up a bit and smile or at least look happy. X February 2024. Went for a quick lunch today as a solo diner. A rather quiet lunch at Rainbows. The counter looked so colourful and yummy. Great service too, best ever, actually. I had a salad bowl, cheese sconeand a can of Kombucha, £14. Salads as ever were fab. Love seeing raw broccoli in salads. Gives such a good texture. Cheesy Scone was a bit undercooked but not the end of the world. A bit cold sitting today, everyone eating...

Delicious food and they were very accomodating of my broken foot. The queue to be served was long but that is to be expected when the food is so tasty, the covid measures in place were good and didn't impact things too much. The outside eating area while chilly (It was October so understandable) was very pretty and all in all was a very enjoyable experience. The picture doesn't really show the lovely outside area but if you look closely you can see the friendly robin that was hopping around......I was very cold so you'll have to excuse poor picture 🙃❄
