Stepping from the 21st Century traffic of Poole Road into Westbourne Arcade is like entering into a (better) bygone age.....the tiled floor and distinctive domed glass roof houses an eclectic mix of independent shops selling practically everything you will ever need - and lots of things you don’t but want to buy anyway!!

We love to get a quarter of chocolate limes from the newsagent and window shop for strange musical instruments, original artwork, flouncy blouses, designer handbags, beautiful blooms and vintage ladybird books that take me straight back to childhood- in an arcade that is also similarly unchanged...

The hardware shop deserves a special mention and has helped with my Four Candles requests on many occasions...

Overall a great place for finding that unique gift and the perfect antidote to the bland shopping experience of Castlepoint, West Quay etc etc...

The shops are decent but they only seem to sell upcycled antiques not the original articles which myself and my mum were actually very disappointed by. Clickbait antique shops that are fake news unless you want furniture that has been completely stripped of its original charm and painted to look shabby chic. Westbourne Arcade is one of the nicest Places in B'mouth with lovely different shops from Excellent Fashion Gift Shoes + a beautiful Antique/ Chic Furniture shop Great Cards, really well stocked Iron Munger's also a fabulous Cheese store ,Tea& Coffee places & a very good Alterations place.Everyone is helpful friendly & professional.
