Amazing food flavour, freshness and portion sizes. The food prices here are around what's expected of a similar establishment. small seating area downstairs and some above but didn't view it. Staff were very friendly and willing to help with the menu and have genuine Indian backgrounds. I know this as a white British male as I've been learning from some local ex-UK forces Gurkhas. You can see from my other reviews I have been to Nepal so know the food, culture and some language. The head chef here is Nepali and a relative of the Gurkha family who I stayed with in Kathmandu. So I can tell you with honesty his families caste would be Newari. They are renowned cooks in Nepal and his other family members still have and used to run restaurants in Derby. He spotted me from pictures sent within his own family. So there's your background, your getting real Asian food here from people who know how to cook you can't get any more true to life from that area of the world. The manager is from a renowned place for food in India and the head chef from Nepals own specialist foodies.
Me and wife only came here by accident it wasn't planned and we couldn't believe how good it is. Chicken tikka sashalik, large portion juicy meat and fresh flavours with a lot of taste and a little heat. All the salad with it was fresh and tasty and the mint and coriander were fresh cut too. The chilli chicken wrap was packed with meat and salad, again the chicken had a nice thin batter and an amazing sweet and spicy taste.
A lot of these dishes have crossover between India and Nepal and further East as Ive seen some in Chinese recipes. My wife had the masala fish and chips, it was a large fish and again fresh and tasty and well cooked.
Needless to say we were impressed, authentic tasty food. Better than Cosmo, Annies burger shack and many more convenient but high priced places to eat where you expect amazing food but get bland run of the mill food. When you eat out and spend extra you want something back for it, this is the place. Its not trying to be something it isnt, the staff have a genuine family background from South East Asia. Go there, support them, and enjoy their food. You'll be eating some food like that you get on the streets of Nepal, I know cos...

I recently visited Indian Street Food Rickshaw, and I must say, it was a deeply disappointing experience. I ordered a tikka dish that was noticeably undercooked. When I politely asked if it could be changed, the staff member was incredibly rude and dismissive, especially considering I'm a woman. Not only did they refuse to replace the dish, but their behavior was completely unacceptable.
To make matters worse, the food itself was not enjoyable. The undercooked tikka had a poor taste and texture, making it clear that the quality of the food is severely lacking.
Overall, I cannot recommend Indian Street Food Rickshaw. The combination of poorly cooked food and disrespectful service makes it a place to avoid. There are plenty of other great food options in the area where you can get quality food and be treated with respect. Save your money and...
