Rios Burgers iow — Restaurant in England

Made the trip from Newport to Shanklin tonight (Monday at 5.30pm,) to take advantage of their Happy Hour Promotion, (buy one get one free on any regular burger from 5pm until 6pm) Got charged full price...

The food was great, but being charged full price not so much, their Facebook page doesn't say you need to mention the promo, but clearly you do, I suspect unless you're a regular, not great for infrequent or new customers, and in a shop full of people the last thing you want to do is question the staff over the price.

Now if I worked there and someone came in during that promotion, and what they ordered fit the requirements for the promo, I'd automatically apply it, and mention it to them, as that customer will always return after, and will tell other people, that's just good service, what I wouldn't do is charge the normal price, because hey the customer didn't mention it, so they must not know.. But...

It's about time that I did a review of Rio's Burgers, Shanklin. Yes there are a few burger places in Shanklin but this one stands out way above the rest. The food is cooked in front of you and you can see the cleanliness of both the staff and the kitchen. There is an awesome 'Burger of the week'. Last night I had the 'Advent Burger'. I can honestly say that it was the nicest burger I've ever had in my life!! The menu is vast so everyone will be able to enjoy one of the many combinations. Great choice of burgers including a make your own. Four different choices of chips. Plus four vegetarian burgers. The staff are very friendly and ask how you like your salad , how you like your bacon and the type of bun you'd like. Very reasonably priced.The boxes are cardboard when you do take aways which mean you can recycle them and the carrier bags are biodegradable. Plenty of room to sit down and has kitchen towel on each table which is useful. I had a BBC burger and it was very flavorful. The bacon pieces were very large and I had plenty of sauce. The meat patties are apparently made from meat from the local butcher and had a lot of flavour compared to the likes of burger king or McDonald's.
