Visited this restaurant on April 19th, 2025, around 9 PM. It was surprising that there were no other customers when we placed our initial order for a large mixed doner wrap, a small chicken doner wrap, and a seafood pizza. About 10 minutes later, we also ordered a chicken pizza to take away. Despite being the only initial customers, we waited for over 30 minutes for our food. What was particularly baffling was that three other customers who ordered after us were served their meals while we were still waiting. Knowing that a doner wrap typically doesn't take that long to prepare, I inquired about the delay. It then became clear that our order hadn't even been started. When I asked why, three staff members out of the approximately six present (all from the kitchen) started shouting at us, claiming they were busy and we weren't the only customers – a statement that directly contradicted the fact that we were the only ones there when we first ordered. Ultimately, we only received three out of our four orders, and they hadn't even begun making the takeaway chicken pizza. To add to the poor experience, we were only informed that they only accept cash after we had placed our order, which was a significant inconvenience as this wasn't mentioned anywhere. Easier to expect customer to pay £3 advance charge at a cash point than request the 90p card charge they would normally charge. Owner was lucky we still ordered as could easily have gone elsewhere. Other takeaways make a charge but seemed to just want to pee us off. Why not either put this in the window or stop taking cards instead of peeing off customers. We only came here for a holiday and will never order from here ever again as the owner's attitude stinks. Even tried to make out that Mastercard is a debit card and looked down his nose when said it was a credit card. Is this because we have insurance on a credit card or just because it is credit not cash. Threw my card down on counter before putting back in PDQ terminal. If this is the way they treat customers then they should shut up shop now as they would not survive in business where we live. Food was OK though despite other negative reviews here. Owner needs to work on his attitude to customers as this may be the main reason why others may be slating his food. Either that or we got lucky on this score. Never again. Read moreAwful food! Chicken was dry and had hardly any chicken and skin on. The chips were dry and hardly edible. The cod was rubbery and chewy! This was the last meal of our holiday before we went home and it was the worst food we've had here! Expensive for disgusting food and took ages to come. When I rang to see where the food was they said they were really busy which is surprising.
Just rang them to tell them the food was awful and the "boss" starting shouting at me and told me I shouted first but I made sure I was very polite.Never had such an awful takeaway and rude customer service. Should be shut down. We are not fussy people and all of us don't like complaining about things but it was so bad that we did. Hopefully everyone reads the Google reviews before ordering and don't make the same mistake we did. They offered to send out new food but after receiving what we did and getting shouted at before he offered that, I decided to decline that offer.
EDIT You shouted at me before you offered to re cook so why would I trust you to not spit in my food.
Like I said, none of us in the family like to complain so yes it took an hour to call but that was because we didn't want to but it was so bad we had to decide who would do it.
