I recently had lunch at Rockwater and, overall, had a very pleasant experience. We chose to sit on the top floor of the restaurant due to the stunning sea view, which really added a special touch to our lunch. The food was spectacular! Every dish we tried was recommended by our waitress, Victoria, who attended to us throughout the meal. Her recommendations were perfect. I particularly recommend the pork dish, which was a highlight of the meal. It was clear the ingredients were fresh and of high quality, and the combination of flavours was simply divine. In addition to the incredible food, Victoria was extremely friendly and attentive. She was always available to answer our questions and ensure we had everything we needed, all with a genuine smile on her face. However, the experience began somewhat unpleasantly. The receptionist who greeted us was not friendly at all and pulled faces at every customer who arrived. This created a negative first impression, which was fortunately overcome by the excellent food and Victoria's service. Despite this negative point, I recommend Rockwater for the quality of the food, the wonderful view, and the excellent service from the waitstaff. I will certainly return for more incredible dining experiences.

This is a great venue on the seafront in Hove. There are three floors of seating and outside space, so suitable for all year-round visits. The atmosphere is relaxed and cosy with various seating arrangements. The service is attentive and friendly but not overbearing. The food was well presented and tasted great. There are different menus and price points depending on which level you're sitting at in Rockwater. The top floor has a roof terrace and a more formal dining room but not too formal. It is great and has a menu that is locally sourced and, in many cases, meant for sharing. The price point rises here and expect to spend £50 person, excluding drinks. The best thing though is, the venue is dog friendly, and we were able to sit inside and enjoy our lunch in the terrace restaurant and later dinner downstairs with the dog. Perfect. Rockeater also holds, puts on a range of activities for children to adults. These range from painting classes - Sip and Paint - to more seasonally themed events. If you're in Brighton and walking on the seafront, then make the effort to go to Rockeater- you won't be disappointed.

As a born and bred Brightonian, I’ve seen my fair share of spots come and go along the Hove seafront. When Rockwater first opened, I was quick to give it a try. Back then, the food didn’t quite hit the spot for me but honestly, that hasn’t put me off from planning to retry the cuisine. What Rockwater nails, though, is the vibe. It’s the kind of place Hove has been crying out for – a cool, laid-back focal point where you can soak in the seaside atmosphere. Whether you’re grabbing a drink with mates or just taking in the view, the ambiance is decent. The décor is modern and slick, and there’s a real buzz about the place. It’s fantastic to have a venue like this on our doorstep, something that brings a bit of life and style to the seafront. So, while the initial food experience wasn’t stellar, I’m hopeful they’ve upped their game since. Given how much I enjoy the overall vibe, it’s definitely worth another shot. Rockwater is a welcome addition to Hove, and I’m looking forward to seeing how it’s evolved. Here’s to giving the menu another go and hoping it matches the great atmosphere they’ve created.

Nice setting and decor with splendid views of the beach and distant horizon from the Roof Terrace. However, it was very busy and the service extremely slow. We had drunk a glass of champagne and a bottle of wine before our first 'small plates' arrived. There are no starters but we managed to get some burnt toast as an offering to pacify our rumbling bellies. With small plates costing between £9 and £17 each, and bearing in mind you need at least 3 each, you can expect to spend £50 to £75 per head minimum. The food was mediocre although the desserts were delicious. Our waiter, an 18 year old who wants to study to be a doctor, was exceptionally polite, helpful and very attentive. We liked him. We left joking that we'd get fish and chips on the way home so don't go to the Roof Terrace expecting to fill your belly. We understand that the menus on the floors below (bar and kitchen) are very different - more substantial and cheaper. If we go again, then we'll try those.

Really enjoyed our spontaneous dinner at Rockwater. We didn’t have a booking and were initially seated at the bar (which was lovely despite the little leg-room!), but later moved to a table when it became available. It’s slightly more expensive than your average restaurant in Hove, but the location is second-to-none and it was particularly special to be able to watch the golden hour over the sea from our table. The service was warm and friendly, and relatively quick for a busy restaurant! Our waiter was knowledgeable about the menu and eager to help. I really liked the cucumber & pear spritz (though if I was being picky, the flavours could have been a little stronger) and the Korean fried chicken flatbread was very tasty. My partner’s antipasti pizza looked great, and he thought the blonde lager was excellent. The whole place was very dog-and-child friendly, and has a really nice vibe. We’ll definitely be back! 😇

A superb venue for any occasion. Unusually styled with natural materials reminiscent of a Dahabiya (traditional Nile Cruise ship). Captivating views of the sea from the upper terrace restaurant with comfortable seating and a welcome breeze created by the clever ceiling design which opened by way of slats. Warning: not a cheap menu, we had two alcoholic drinks, a bottle of water 3 small plates one King prawns, one burrata, and one bavette steak with two sides of new potatoes and sourdough bread. Two desserts caramel carrot cheesecake and chocolate pudding. AND the service charge added is approximately 12%. Each plate presented was a miniature work of art, colourful, freshly prepared from high-quality ingredients and filled with flavour. Helpful, friendly and knowledgeable staff. Would certainly return if we were in Brighton again. Thank you very much.
