Rokka Turkish Mediteranean Bar & Grill — Restaurant in England

Phoned to book a table for 7.30, but they couldn't do anything until 8pm. Fair enough, that'll do. Turned up at 7.55 and had to wait outside until 8.30. The only excuse was there were to many couples. They booked them. The seat we were given was tucked in a tiny space in a corner with a wall behind me and the table pushing in to my ribs and a wall behind my partner with the table pushing in to her. Our drinks order was taken at 8.50 and delivered 5 mins later. At 9pm the food order was taken by the comical waiter. I ordered the set meal (there are only 2 set menus, one with a dessert and one without). I was asked number 1 or 2. I said 2 and was told they had no dessert. Number 1 it was. The starter of a mixed mezz arrived with no bread. After asking for bread twice it arrived. The product was below tesco basics standard (no offence to tesco, but they don't claim to be a top Turkish restaurant). We had an amazing evening at this wonderful Turkish restaurant in Rushden! The large mixed meat platter was nothing short of phenomenal. It had everything you could ask for—grilled lamb chops, chicken wings, chicken cubes, Adana kebab, loads of fluffy rice, and some beautifully fresh side salads. Every bite was packed with flavor! My wife opted for the vegetarian mezze, and it was absolutely divine. Even our kids had a blast, with our youngest giving it a 20 out of 10 (high praise!).

It's a lovely family-run spot, and the patron took such great care of us all night, making us feel right at home. Right from the start there was a rudeness from the owner/manager suggesting we weren’t being clear enough with what dishes we wanted. A main arrived instead of a starter and then after quite some time the mains arrived and most were cold. One of our group was given incorrect information about her dish meaning she had to have a different meal which was served up after everyone else had finished theirs. She was also told she had been fully informed at the beginning about the dish which she wasn’t. The main waiter seemed to be a young boy and we had to ask the staff twice for a jug of water. We asked for the bill several times and when it was incorrect there was no apology, instead we felt like we were a nuisance.
