I am writing this complaint due to TWO separate occasions of blatant discrimination from this venue. I had a panic attack which caused a fit and ended up with me being hospitalised in here months ago and got kicked out for being “too drunk” despite not being at all. I gave the venue another try last night and had my ID out and ready which is completely fine i’ve been inside many times but i was told this time randomly it isn’t fine and again got told im “too drunk” to come in which isn’t the case as my partner has explained to the staff multiple times here before and last night that i have a mental health condition which can alter my appearance and behaviour. I then got told i wont be being served at all because im underage????? despite several staff members taking my id away to check it and saying it was okay.
I was frustrated beyond belief at this point so i walked out & then got challenged AGAIN BY THE SAME PEOPLE for my id when i purely just tried to get back in to ask my partner to leave and go home with me. Your team need urgently educating on customers with mental health disorders and also how to check valid identification properly. I am twenty five years old and it’s not good enough.
I would like a prompt apology and some answers from management about just why you think it’s acceptable to continuously single me out like this, and i will take this act of discrimination as far as i can to prevent it happening to any more customers, I am truly...
Read moreCatering for a group of people who all want additions to or subtractions from their dish isn't easy. Add to that, serving all those meals together AND ensuring they're hot and you have a potential recipe for disaster. We were extremely happy that our experience at the Rose & Crown today was anything but a disaster, even taking into account all of the above! We received a warm welcome and our lovely waitress, Kat, was at great pains to ensure everything was done to our satisfaction. She was polite, helpful and attentive (but not overly so which can be annoying). The food, cooked by Georgia, was very nice with good sized portions and the offer of free desserts for the two birthday girls was only turned down because we were too full! Only one very minor complaint and that's that the group on the table behind ours were so loud and rowdy that, until they left about 30 minutes after we got there, we could not hear ourselves think, let alone speak to one another. It was completely OTT and totally unnecessary and a word from management to keep it down a touch wouldn't have gone amiss - for the enjoyment of all the other...
Read moreI will never go to this place again, on the Green king website this pub is advertised as doing Sunday lunch. They DO NOT DO SUNDAY LUNCH. I only booked here for one reason and one reason alone, for a Sunday Roast. I was absolutely amazed when I was told at the bar that they dont do Sunday lunch at all anymore. I was with my wife and my mother in law who is over 80. To be told at 1pm when we arrived the menu we have does not do Sunday lunch what a disgrace. Do Green King actually care. We had no choice but to eat there off what is less than basic menu. I ordered a pint of Old speckled hen even this was off and tasted like vinager. This place is not worth a visit particularly...
