Food was very good, tasty and fresh. The seasonal cocktail was excellent. However, the service was very disappointing. We waited over an hour for our food with no explanation as to the delay or an apology. Once we reminded them that we were actually there, they came back and told us it would take eight minutes. I’m assuming that’s how long it takes to sort out cooking halloumi and falafel wraps. The icing on the cake was when they came to clear up our plates within seconds of us finishing, saying to us that they knew we were in a hurry. Plates being on the table wasn’t going to impede our exit and one of the party hadn’t actually finished and was grabbing some food while The server took the plate away. Shame, as it has a lovely vibe and as I say, the food is good. hopefully this...

I feel bad because Southend needs more of this and clearly it's popular, but I don't think...
Read moreA delightful spot for lunch in the city, this tiny street front cafe also includes a “secret garden,” an outdoor dining space just around the corner from the store front. Staff are professional and wonderfully service minded, happy to give recommendations and perfectly pleasant. Items on the menu are fairly priced, and portions are just right. Food is flavorful, made of quality ingredients, freshly prepared, and well presented, and the menu appears to be meat free, which the hummus and falafel more than make up for. The platters and pitas were all delicious, and this is a spot we’d definitely return to, especially when the weather is just right for lunch...
