This is an okay bar in the heart of Southend's town centre, opposite Southend Central train station. This place is old and in need of refurbishment, I've been there many times over the years and I've rarely seen more than a dozen people inside. It's fine if you just want a quiet drink with a friend and want to guarantee yourself a table to sit down at but there are nicer places...

Is not that it's a bad pub, it's just the kinda place you find a lot of middle age blokes with beer bellies and bad attitudes congregating around on corner of the bar, and I barmaid who spends most of the shift talking to a lemonade drinking kid (who only wears grey jogging bottoms) at the other...

There's a couple of good nights at SAKs Underground. I'm still feeling the effects of last saturday, which saw the launch of SNAP (Saturday Night Alternative Project). Great night, nice crowd. Busy, but not so busy that you can't get served! Cheap entry, had a fantastic...
