Sage — Restaurant in England

We went here to celebrate my partners birthday , after trying on two previous occasions to dine here ( we aren't local ). We were not disappointed, the food was out of this world 😋.. unfortunately for us, and we do take half the blame. we did encounter a couple of issues mainly based on the menus only being on the wall. We felt incredibly uncomfortable standing in the middle of the floor area, staring over the heads of two couples dining. I choose rustic breads with olives , but unfortunately used the word flatbread , which then prompted the server to ask what flavour , which confused me even more 🤔 so in a panic ditched the starters all together 😪 we ordered our main meals,we were asked what sauces we would like , we both declined and server explained each served with a stir fry base . . When food arrived , she asked if we were sure we hadn't wanted sides ,we then realised it was included and we should have spotted that on the menu boards ! .. BUT , what we did eat was AMAZING, beautifully presented and cooked to perfection .. 100% we will be back , and next time we will read the menu entirely and have the most...

Absolutely outstanding!

Celebrated my wife's 60th birthday party last night, taking up the entire restaurant. Forty five guests, just the right number to create a great party atmosphere. The buffet provided was one of the best I have seen, freshly prepared meats, pate and fish platters. ( Sage will tailor choices to suit ) Couldn't thank Ian and his lovely wife enough for making the occasion really special and catering for all our needs. Wouldn't think of going anywhere else to cater for a similar event in the future, our guests were highly impressed with the buffet...

Finally decided to try this place. After many recommendations..

Really wish I had not bothered... My meal was not very nice at all..

I had the chicken, chorizo pasta... All I could taste was chorizo.. I know chorizo has a very strong taste, but it just cancelled out any chance of tasting any other flavours.. The chicken was well overcooked, very chewy...and hard....

Really disappointed... Especially for £14..which was one of the cheapest options...

Very poor selection of beers.. No Ipa's. Its 2023... Get with the times, people like more than flavourless beers...
