People's Park is a sprawling oasis of green in the heart of Grimsby. With its massive pond (home to more ducks than you can shake a stick at), winding paths, and ample space for activities, it's the perfect place to escape the urban hustle and bustle. You can practically hear the soothing sounds of nature... occasionally punctuated by the roar of a modified Corsa.

That's right, folks. While People's Park boasts idyllic scenery and Victorian charm, it also seems to be the chosen hangout spot for Grimsby's finest collection of "roadmen" and "chavettes." During the day, it's mostly harmless – the odd bit of posturing, some questionable fashion choices (tracksuits in summer? Bold move), and maybe a heated debate about the merits of various energy drinks. But as dusk descends, the park takes on a different vibe. The air becomes thick with the scent of cheap cologne and vape smoke, and the gentle quacking of ducks is replaced by the thumping bass of someone's portable speaker. It's like a nature documentary narrated by Ali G. Now, I'm not saying you'll get mugged for your sausage roll. But if you're looking for a peaceful evening stroll under the stars, this might not be your ideal location.

Top Tips for Navigating People's Park: Daytime is your friend: Enjoy the park's beauty while the sun is shining and the local youth are still recovering from their late-night "cruises." Embrace the fashion show: Where else can you witness such a diverse range of tracksuits, trainers, and eyebrow piercings? Brush up on your local slang: Knowing the difference between "safe" and "bait" could come in handy. Avoid eye contact: Unless you're prepared for a staring contest you probably won't win. Carry a decoy phone: If things get hairy, just toss your old Nokia in the opposite direction and make a run for it.

Despite its "unique" social scene, People's Park is still a worthwhile visit. Just remember to bring your sense of humour, a good pair of headphones, and maybe a can of energy drink (for blending...

A LOCAL TREASURE Built during the height of the industrial revolution and is still an amazing place, situated in the heart of town. The amenities include a bowling green, bandstand a children's play area, a glass house an aviary and a cafe which offers eat in or take away food options. Restrooms and facilities for the disabled are also provided here.It still has two bowling greens and and club house which has it's own facilities. But for me the real beauty is in the huge tree lined open space which encompasses a large grassy area popular with game player's, dog walkers and sun worshippers alike.(This was a cricket pitch once upon a time). Fete's and other public events are held on here during the summer months these often include live music and attract good sized audiences of all ages. Then of course there is pond which despite being over 125 years old manage's to pull a few Bird's! (mainly mallard's) and holds a population of fish mainly roach and carp. People often don't appreciate the diversity of the trees growing in people's park some are unique to the area and worthy of a closer look. This place has witnessed a lot of history it's survived two world wars, several global financial crashes, government and council cuts, vandalism and scandal. Yet it has endured all this, still live's(yes i consider it a living thing) still beautiful no matter the weather or the season, still remains.

This is a beautiful park right in the centre of a residential area. There is ample parking around the park. Great for dog walkers, joggers, sitting, strolling. There is a dedicated play area for the kids here too. Public conveniences are in the centre, by the lake open from 8 til 8 in the evening. The lake has a couple of resident swans and ducks. There is an old bandstand here too that does get used from time to time for events There is a bowls club here too with a fantastic bowls green. Well worth a visit anytime of the year

There are some chavs that like to hang about but I love to walk my dog there and go there with my mates, there is also a today's extra right next to it so if you're hungry or thirsty just go there and buy stuff. It is a brill place to have a picnic and sometimes in the summer there is a big festival type thing there where you can have fun, relax or join in on some games Below is my dog that I walk there so if you see us say hi p.s.the one on the left is mine the other is my friends btw there sisters for anyone wondering

Lovely park that I’ve been going to on and off all my life. I now visit Grimsby only occasionally but it’s a great place to take my children. It’s well maintained and cared for these days, and has a little cafe too. Although these days not technically part of the park, the Floral Hall is worth a visit. It closed a few years ago which was a real shame. Good to see it back.
