We went last night to try the choose what you want buffet, booked a table for 8pm and were quickly taken to a table and gave a drink order.
The starters, rice, chips, noodles and sauces were self serve and unfortunately had not been refreshed for a while so the ribs, and chicken satay were very dry, the rice almost empty and crispy where it had dried from sitting and we had to ask for noodles 3 times after being told they were self service, because there was only scraps at the bottom of the container.
That's the downside.
When the fresh noodles came they were very nice, you could only order 1 main at a time and the portions were rightly very small, great so you could order more without being filled up on one, or adding to waste, not great as you had to wait each time you wanted to order another very small meal.
The food that was delivered was fresh, tasty and good quality, I found the menu limited and was disappointed the duck starter was an extra £3.50 with a minimum 2 person order as my partner doesn't like it so I didn't get to have any.
So a 3 star review because for £23 a head and the way it was laid out and served I would be go back, yet my partner did enjoy the 3 mains ordered.
3 seems a lot but if all had been put on a plate there would have been less than 1 meal as a take away.
During our hour there none of the starters or sauces were replenished, even though there was quite...

I decided to try a takeaway as I was passing and my usual Chinese takeaway in Bedlington was closed. I had to order the dearest house special fried rice I have ever seen, at least £3 more expensive than anywhere else so I thought it had to very ‘special’ but unfortunately not! I received a huge portion of 97% egg fried rice, three king prawns, the smallest pieces of chicken and beef I have seen and a few slithers of spring onion. My son had lemon chicken which he did say was quite nice but he wasn’t keen on the rice, the spicy chips weren’t spicy and soggy, being served in a plastic container, finally the spring rolls were over cooked, practically burnt! I felt like we ate £10 worth of food and binned other £26. The only decent part was the service, the lady taking our order was very pleasant and cooked in the time mentioned but we will not be returning. I would recommend...
Read more"I recently visited Mandarin Bay with some friends and had a great experience. The food was absolutely delicious - we ordered a variety of dishes to share, including the crispy duck pancakes, the Kung Pao chicken, and the salt and pepper squid, and everything was cooked to perfection. The flavors were rich and authentic, and the portions were generous.
The service was also excellent - the staff were friendly and attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. The atmosphere in the restaurant was cozy and welcoming, and we all felt very comfortable and relaxed.
Overall, I would highly recommend Mandarin Bay to anyone looking for a fantastic Chinese dining experience in the Cramlington area. The food is top-notch, the service is excellent, and the overall ambiance of the restaurant is fantastic. We will definitely be...
