The 'Seasonality' deli shop and bistro-style restaurant in Queen Street, Maidenhead is definitely 'a little gem' that needs to be discovered by all discerning foodies!
We popped in for a light lunch and my friend chose the Pumpkin Soup with Blue Cheese and Pesto Crumb ... accompanied by three slices of Sourdough Bread and Butter.
The tang and crumbly texture of piquant blue cheese was the perfect foil to complement the silky-smooth velouté of soup.
Whilst I opted for the Onion Tarte Tatin with Seasonal Vegetables: pickled beets and pumpkin on a bed of puréed kale with pine nuts and garlic.
Beautifully presented, seasonal dishes ... arriving like little 'works of art' on a plate!
Visually stunning (as the photos show), using a combination of both colours and textures: seasonal root vegetables decorated with edible nasturtium flowers ... followed by a 'taste explosion' hitting one's tongue and palate!
Absolutely gorgeous food, lovingly prepared with passion.
Great customer service and coffee too.
Restaurant-quality meals: 'Dine At Home' Boxes are available too.
Together with SUPPER: a series of intimate dining experiences exploring the 'Taste The Seasons' menu.
If you're looking for a TASTE EXPERIENCE that's a little bit different and truly memorable ... I recommend you try this new, independently...
Read morePosh and polished establishment I must say. Presentation.. each plate was a work of art. Flavours... Not overpowering but fresh.. I'm still savouring the tastes of the desert I picked. wish I could have one last spoon balancing a tower of crunchy brandy snap, pannacotta, fruit sauce and fresh local beautiful rhubarb . Variety of Textures adds pzaz.
Food... The chefs have skills Loved our seafood tartare and mushroom fondant starters with some additions that really impressed and for mains the pork ( we were prewarned it was to be served pink, and were ok with it) was melt-in-your-mouth and the centerpiece in my cod and seafood bisque was perfectly seasoned with firm flesh, in a tasty sauce. Savour each mouthful cos portions are delicately sized... "always leave them wanting more" - and they cruelly did with each dish. A lesson in quality over quantity ya fat bstard.
Our waitress was attentive and offered drinks, regularly replaced the table water etc and was friendly and professional as was front of house.. all in all staff made us feel at home ... v impressed....
Read moreSecond time we visited last night and once again it was superb. On this occasion we managed to get a table for their Supper event - a tasting menu which occurs the final weekend of the month. The food is absolutely the main focus here, and the chef Wesley produces dishes that rival any of the top restaurants in London. He takes enormous care to source the best ingredients possible and, as the name of the restaurant states, shows off his impeccable knowledge by selecting these ingredients based upon whatever is in season at the time. The food is perfect but as is the service, atmosphere, choice of wines and surroundings - and all at a very modest price. Both times we loved chatting with Wesley about all the dishes - his enthusiasm and passion for cooking made the whole evening even more enjoyable. So so pleased that we have such an incredible restaurant in Maidenhead. Excited to see Seasonality flourish, I think the...
