Nice decor, delicious pastries, but completely horrible service. I used to visit almost every day and always thought the staff was not very attentive or nice, but it didn't bother me too much, however I did expect that customer feedback would be appreciated if offered so I first wrote a Google review suggesting Bakked offered organic milk and other produce possibly, to which no one responded at all. Having received no response, I proceeded to ask the staff onsite what was the best way to suggest improvements - the staff member looked at me in disbelief first and when I repeated my question twice more, she responded "I don't know". I asked if there was someone who did know and after a few minutes another colleague approached (mind you there were no customers waiting), he barely looked at me as I asked the same question again: is there any way I can provide suggestions to the management, and he responded that I should write a Google review... Thoroughly disappointed and I need to highlight this is not only my experience. A friend of mine asked which non-dairy food they had and the staff also looked at her as if she was speaking in a foreign language first and then was not able to suggest anything. I'm not surprised by such poor customer service when on rare occasions I visit Costa or Nero etc, but you kind of expect a different level of customer service in a place like Bakedd. Truly disappointing as the pastries are delicious, but a place where neither the staff nor the management can be bothered to engage with their customers, and are either completely ignorant about or simply don't care about animal welfare, is not a place I will keep...
Read moreWhat a fantastic coffee shop (and bakery) I'd walked past it a few times and thought it was just an artisan bakery. We were walking along the High Street on Saturday and had our French Bulldog with us and thought we might be able to grab a cold drink and sit and one of the few tables outside the front. As we approached we saw a "dogs welcome" sign, so headed inside. Wow - what a great café. It was nice and cool inside, and they also had many tables outside along the new waterside. It was so much bigger than I'd expected yet still had a fantastic atmosphere. The choice of foods was excellent and I overheard someone ordering a Turkish Coffee. It turns out that they also serve Turkish Tea although it's not on the menu and this is my all-time favourite! Staff were really attentive but not intrusive and the place was full of chilled out people too. I would definitely recommend this over any other café / coffee shop in Maidenhead. It's so much better than the chain coffee shops that dominate high streets and I will definitely be going back on a regular basis. Highly recommended if you're...
Read moreOne of Maidenhead's best places to get food or drinks, a great location by the river and first among the newer places which have launched in the last year, all making this part of Maidenhead 'trendy'. Excellent coffees and hot drinks like chai or tumeric lattes. Good milk alternatives. A very wide variety of Mediterranean inspired sandwiches, bagels, savoury pastries, loads of cakes and sweet treats too. Excellent baked bread. Great options for vegetarians and (I think) vegans. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is when it's busy, queueing and finding a seat can be chaotic. All the staff are usually friendly and helpful, though. Finally, the prices are on the steep side, especially for food. You're paying for quality ingredients and fresh preparation, and also costs for independent businesses have sky rocketed which I understand. Just be prepared to have not much change from a tenner if you get a drink and something to eat! But I go here all the time and would recommend...
