Knead Neapolitan Pizza, Maidenhead — Restaurant in Great Britain

Very cold atmosphere, the pizza was tasteless (no seasoning on the sauce, lacked oregano & basil too) the dough itself too was not seasoned, undercooked and burnt around the edges (because the oven was too hot) 🔥You can't run a pizza oven on a very hot base,. It is difficult to control the pizzas whilst inside and get it cooked thoroughly. I take it you don't use 00 flour ! You can't throw a couple of an uncooked mushroom on a pizza and expect the mushroom to be cooked in a matter of minutes. Why is it only in this country they add raw mushroom as topping ? Here is a tip to your pizza chef: Cook your mushroom on the stove or oven and don't forget the seasoning, let it cool,fridge overnight, sieve it and then use it for your toppings. Use good quality mushrooms 🍄 I suggest a mix of button,oyster & flat mushrooms. Judging by what we had last evening, I can tell that your pizza chef is not Italian. Your restaurant needs a lot of improvement and has a huge potential if you know what to do ! The entrance to the premises for a start is awkward,,etc,,,, I can go on 4ever. Very young front of the house team and unexperienced (not their fault) I believe, it it is to do with paying them less due to the age and paying less taxes to HMRC's. We were supposed to have a birthday dinner for two. I made a reservation with a note requesting that the table be decorated with "HAPPY BIRTHDAY MAURIZIO." However, when we arrived at the appointed time, we were greeted with the initial disappointment of being told, "Sit wherever you want," as if my reservation didn't exist. Afterward, we had to wait around fifteen minutes for one of the waiters to finally take our order.

For the starter, we didn't have to wait long, but when it came to our two pizzas, we had to muster patience and wait for 50 minutes! We also had to ask for clean utensils, which were taken away after the starters, and we never received clean ones. Nobody bothered to check on us during this time, asking if everything was okay or if we wanted to order more drinks – it was as if we weren't there.

We skipped dessert for a simple reason: we didn't want to wait an additional 30 minutes for someone to attend to our table. Upon finishing our pizzas (which were very delicious), I went to the reception desk to settle the bill for the dinner. I didn't want to risk waiting for service. While paying, I mentioned to the staff that when making the reservation, I had requested a short note on the table with birthday wishes. The waitress's reaction spoke volumes – she just shrugged and said, "Sorry."

The food is great, but the overall experience, service, and customer approach make me wish I had spent the entire evening dreaming of leaving that place and...

The quality of the food was excellent; however, the service left much to be desired. Our initial experience was frustrating, as we waited for over 15 minutes before anyone acknowledged our presence at the table. Despite the restaurant being half empty and only two waiters present, we waited nearly 50 minutes for our two pizzas.

Although the food eventually arrived and was delicious, our experience was marred by the lack of attention to detail from the staff. We had to request clean cutlery after the starter, and thereafter, no one checked on us to inquire about our satisfaction. When it came time to settle the bill, my partner mentioned to the waitress that he had requested a birthday note on the table when making the reservation. Unfortunately, no note was present, and the table wasn’t reserved as requested. The waitress’s response was a simple and somewhat indifferent “sorry.”

In conclusion, while the food itself was of high quality, the overall experience was greatly impacted by the disappointing and inattentive service. Regrettably, we cannot recommend this establishment and are unlikely to dine here again. There are undoubtedly better options in town to enjoy a delicious pizza while receiving the level of professional service...
