The display on famous Maidenhead Women was disappointing. It was more of a Newlands School reunion than a celebration of the truly wide contribution local women have made to both local and national life, some even international life. Some of the tributes were adversely coloured with the personal views of the curator. For example, he sneers at one lady's strong views on religion and alcohol but does not note that she was a battered wife of an alcoholic in a previous marriage and a sponsor women's refuges in her Dock yard constituency. The local MP who is the Prime Minister is given equal status as the Spice Girls who had merely lived in a house briefly. It appears to have been rushed and under researched.
