Visited The Corn Exchange for the first time last night, where I listened to a string quartet play songs from Queen. We were sat in the Queens Hall which is beautifully decorated with high ceilings in ornate plaster and fantastic colour, big enough for its purpose, but small enough to still remain intimate. The venue staff were plentiful in number and helpful in guiding us to our seats, etc. The actual music was part of the Candelight by Fever classical music events. The hall was lit purely by candles (not real ones) which gave the intimate ambience that the event needed. Read moreThe venue was stunning and well-organized, creating a wonderful atmosphere for the event. However, given that it was a candlelight concert, we were expecting a bit more romance and a stronger orchestral presence to enhance the ambiance. While the performance was enjoyable, some of the ABBA melodies were not entirely recognizable, which was a little disappointing. Read moreWe went to watch Fever - Adele tribute concert, and parked at the casino rooms as other car parks were full (5ish minutes walk). There’s a bar and toilets. The building is stunning (see photo of the ceiling!) & staff were really good, working hard to make sure no one is using their phones until the last song (when it’s allowed). So many people went to the loo during the performance, it’s only an hour so try to go beforehand for your fellow audience and...
