Would give more stars if I could I have been playing golf for 20+ years and rarely have I come across a set up that has everything a golfer could want in spades. Today was my first visit having just moved to the area, and everything was spot on Peter in the pro shop was brilliant - friendly, chatty and more than helpful. The course - well - I have yet to visit the wonders of Scottish or Irish golf - but Skipton GC must surely be set in one of the most picturesque locations in England. The best element of the picturesque element is, the course has been designed as if it has been there since the Dales were formed. There are no forced hazards, no sudden bunkers - This course let's the landscape do the talking and shot shaping. I am a mid to high handicap, but stood on each tee, I found myself working out the tee shot as if I had a caddy on the bag and a million pounds on the line - and the reward for the good shots, other than giving yourself a great chance of par as all the greens are perfectly receptive - is watching the shot you'd visualized, sail off into the dales skyline. Every golfer visiting North and West Yorkshire, absolutely must visit Skipton Golf Club - it is a true reminder of what golf should be about from course to clubhouse

Warm welcome from the pro and catering staff. A good breakfast to start with, but come on, where were the beans😅 . Very reasonable green fees. The course was in excellent condition considering the amount of rain in recent days. Great views of the surrounding countryside taken in on a well set out course that I would highly recommend.

The course it's self is in very good condition,i was very happy to see this as I was a greenkeeper there for 14 ish years . Very well done to Ian, Darren and the rest of the lads who look after it . Played in open on Sunday 22nd sept.Clubhouse very good .Staff and Pro pleasant and helpful. Greens slow but true.Follows the contours of the land so lot of playing across dips and uphill shots In good condition.13th to 18th really good holes but beware 15th ,16th. Stream running across in front of the greens.16th par 3 194 yards blind tee shot off whites with said stream in front hazard area down right bushes and rough down left.Daunting tee shot, would be much fairer if hole was shortened to give golfers of all skills a fair chance. All in all an interesting course shame weather was overcast so we couldn't make the most of the surrounding...

I visited recently from the Midlands as a member of the 1893 clubs, as my wife was doing a charity walk across the Yorkshire Dales. The course was in great condition with some great feature holes with stunning backdrops. The Pro Peter, who I had contacted the week before, made sure I was well looked after and that members were on hand to go out with me, as I was on my own. It just so happened that it was Pro's day and although it was very busy, I was able to play the course and access the 10th hole refreshments which was most welcome. I would also like to thanks the two gents who took the time to go...
