Very disappointed in general, we were sat down then asked if we wanted a drink which we ordered and got. Waiter took our order then when it arrived my husbands meal was passed over my head to him and he was told take take which he did. I felt this was very unprofessional and have never been served like this before. I’m afraid to say that the food was not that great either so quite a lot was left I did mention why when they collected the plates, again expecting my husband to pass the plates over me, but it fell on deaf ears I feel. We asked for the bill then got 2 hot towels dumped down on the table and after 10 minutes we got up and went to the desk to pay as we were still waiting but a group of 8 who asked for their bill after us had been presented with it along with werthers original sweets and the card payment machine while we were still waiting. Read moreI would just like to bring awareness to how rude the staff at Sonali were this evening. After finding a piece of chicken in my VEGETARIAN dish, I kindly rung them up and explained to them my concerns. They accused me over the phone of having placed the chicken in there myself. My friends had ordered chicken dishes but one was a yellow korma and the other a bright red dish and this peice of chicken was the same coulor of my dish. We were asked to bring the vegetarian dish back and did so willingly. The staff would not admit their own error and again accused me of 'planting it' myself. Being a loyal customer since they opened in 2010 I was very disappointed and upset that these accusations were made. Reluctantly the staff asked me what I would like for the inconvenience. I had asked for the full meal to be refunded as we also had problems with other aspects including having to wait for much longer than they told us. Starter courses forgotten !!!.... 15 % charge added to final bill illegally. When challenged they pointed out a notice on the wall saying 15% would be added. Prices on menu therefore incorrect, not informed of price difference.!!!...Abismal customer service. When food finally arrived it was acceptable....but by then most people were ready to leave for a bag of chips !!! This used to be an excellent place to eat, we always visited as table of 10 plus for many years. We used to recommend the restaurant to family and friends....not any more. Our previous visit wasn't Stella, but we put that down to a one off..... But this visit confirmed we will not be returning. At no point did management appear to address our concerns....
