We booked for 7.30pm on a Saturday and it was full. Several large parties were there before us. Ordering and drinks went OK but food delivery was slow. Starters took about 20 minutes which were mainly onion bhargees. Then it was a long wait for main meal which helped the starters go down but we were getting concerned by 9.00pm of the lack of mains. An apology was given and a free round of drinks given and the food was about another 10 minutes. I had a duck dish with new potatoes in a medium sauce which was really nice the duck being quite tender. A chicken tikka dish on our table smelt delicious and was a very generous portion. A final free drink which my wife and I used to have a coffee finished a very nice meal. Bill was £90 for 4 including a full size bottle of processco and 2 small ones. So despite the wait which was not too inconvenient as we were not in a rush we rounded it up to £100. Not sure if anyone else was inconvenienced...
Read moreI have been in Dunstable for 5 years and I never ever tried dishes from this restaurant until yesterday.
First of all, as a Bangladeshi , I can assure you that saying they serve Bengali cuisine is a false statement…. The service however was all right I guess.
Finally if you are looking for Bengali / Indian food modified to British taste & don’t mind paying for overpriced food then go for it. But if you are from India/ Pakistan/ Bangladesh….then better save your money by...
Read moreAs a last minute outing looked at the reviews and chose this place. What a disappointment it was. To start with it was a hot day and there was no A/C in the restaurant. I did inquire a couple of times and the response was poor with not even acknowledgment. Then we ordered the food which arrived without delay. The Mutton Biriyani was tasteless with old pieces of meat and no flavour in the rice and full of oil. Chicken Korma tasted sweet. when inquired I was told that sugar has been added to it to make it sweet. It tested terrible and the whole meal was appalling. I will never visit this place again. This place is good for customers who doesn't understand about Indian food and used to the same tomato and ghee and cream based sauces. You should get better...
