We ordered four pasties here (£5 each) and they were a great size, well filled, and had a fantastic amount of steak inside! Finally a pasty with the perfect proportions, and nice and moist too. My only slight gripe is that mine lacked salt and pepper a little but they were still great pasties 👌 We also tried the almond croissants which were absolutely incredible. Probably the best almond croissant I've ever had, with so much marzipan on the top, and thick with frangipane in the middle. 10/10.

We’ve travelled all the way from Australia for these pasties! My family’s ties to St.Mawes goes back generations and as we each continue to make the trek to this delightful Cornish town, a pasty from this fabulous bakery is first on our itinerary. Very filling, fresh, warm and DELICIOUS!!!! Watch out for the hovering seagulls who love them just as much and will do anything to get a morsel! 😂

Six of us went in for sandwiches at lunchtime we kept the dogs outside, we were going to have takeout but a table became free and we were allowed to bring the dogs in. Great food well priced. Nice friendly staff. In a great location. Pictures taken just outside

I am sorry that this is such a negative review which I really should have posted a few years ago but I have to be honest. Having visited St Mawes for a number of recent years we began by purchasing pasties and cakes from the bakery. However, I was always very uncomfortable by the fact that they would handle the unwrapped products by hand and then take money and move on to the next customer. Surely as a business you must be aware of all the germs that are carried and can be transferred on money. I have to confess I cannot recall whether they wore gloves or not but either way there was no change from handling the products to taking the money i.e. either they had gloves on for both or used bare hands for both. This swayed us from buying products from there over the past few years. This year I wanted to have a look to see whether they had changed any of their processes for the better because of Covid. I walked past the shop to see (I think) the owner standing in the doorway, about to serve a customer who was outside. She was not wearing a mask and actually coughed into her hand as I happened to walk by. I was quite appalled. Health and hygiene is massively important when serving food generally never mind in the current climate. Very small changes would make this a better place to buy...

Love this little bakers pasties, the cinnamon buns they do are amazing, the sausages rolls were amazing, I did like until yesterday, something effected me with in the sausage roll and it took me 3 hours to get back home to Exeter after bringing that sausages roll back up, and obviously something wasnt right with it and it made me really ill was fine until I ate the sausage roll then half an hour went by and I was ill, so sorry for posting this but something was in it wasn't right, it has effected my voice and now I sound like marg Simpson on steroids, but I ain't being nasty with this post something wasn't right with the sausage rolls yesterday on the 25th sep 2024, and I'll...

We have had wonderful bread, saffron buns, pasties over past 26 years we have stayed in St Mawes. This year we decided to do a Pasty Workshop. Can highly recommend! The bakery is just a short stroll from the shop. Jane and Pat led us in making the pastry and the technique used for an authentic pasty. 3 out of the 4 were veggie and I ndian and Jane went out of her way to obtain spices she thought would appeal. Whilst waiting for our pasty to bake we were treated to coffee and cake on the Quay before heading back to the bakery to see the finished result. Brilliant 👏 A great deal of pride ensued! Such a fun afternoon. Thanks to Jane...
