Stoby's Fish and Chips — Restaurant in England

On the whole the food is good (had one experience of being served scampi which was cooked on the outside but cold on the inside staff were very unhelpful - they took food and placed it back in the fryer!!!) Of late the service is very slow, non friendly and bolshy. ..when Stobys had the business (which they did for many many successful years) it was the very best in town...had one incident where I was in for a takeaway and because the fryer/manager was unable to keep up with orders (due to lack of training and experience) he shouted out to stop all orders!! This was not only very unprofessional but also extremely rude as the takeaway was full of people and they had literally just taken an order for 5pm that day for £55 worth of takeaway...this takeaway is nowhere near the Busy little chippy it was when it was...

Just returned from Stoby's. Had Cod n Chips, Haddock n Chips, and kids Sausage n Chips. Cod was nicely cooked, fairly good portion at £7.10, Same for the Haddock but £7.80, and my son's single sausage n chips came to £4.90, which was curiously 10 pence more than an adult portion, but came with a blackcurrant cordial drink. Overall the food was good, but like most restaurants in Salisbury, overpriced. We could have got cod and chips at "Chick-o-Land" for £4.10, which is virtually next door.

Stoby's is not big inside. Too many tables are crammed into too small a space. Thankfully it was quiet for our visit, so we had enough room, just about, for our elbows.

Salisbury is screaming out for a restaurant that serves good food at reasonable prices. Sadly this is not one of those places. Our...

Text: Would just like to say I moved to salisbury last week My mum visited me today. we stopped for some lunch I had medium battered cod and chips.

My mother had battered sausage and chips. She is (boring) with food. But we both enjoyed it very much Cod was fresh, not too greasy, and the chips were amazing The whole meal was very moreish I've been a.qyalified chef for 7 years, All I can say is that it was supper duper ! Will definitely return
