Stock — Restaurant in England

I have been wanting to try this restaurant since we moved here 3 years ago so a post lockdown meal here was just the ticket. I was a bit surprised on entering to see a rather plainly fitted out restaurant and the waiter/owner very casually dressed in shorts. This initial concern was cancelled out by the amazing food! My starter was mushrooms in a delicious sauce on toast. I couldn’t believe how tasty it was ( see photos), I followed this with duck in a cherry sauce and it was another perfectly executed meal. This is my favourite restaurant, especially for the roasts, but for everything else as well. The food is very special - always hot and tasty, traditional, well-chosen and beautifully served. We take all our favourite people to Stock, and everybody who comes with us delights in the service and the food. What more could you ask? Wonderful. Just wish we lived...
