Our experience at Stuzzi was very mixed. There were elements of brilliance, such as the wine waiter, and big disappointments, such as the arancini being saltier than the Atlantic. The porchetta with mash and apple was delicious, and we were suggested a fantastic white wine to accompany the meal. The service was a little lack lustre, and there was periods of time we were waiting without food or drinks for more than 20 minutes and had to call multiple waiters over to our table (the first seemed to forget…) The menu could also do with clearer information on what the meals were, as we were served a mushroom tart that was lukewarm, and upon commenting on this to the manager after the meal had ended we were told it was meant to be cold. If we had known this in advance it would have improved our enjoyment of the dish. It’s quite off putting to eat something that feels cold that you assume should be hot. Possibly the staff need to more routinely explain the dishes being ordered. Also the amoretto cream in the dessert did not seem to contain any amoretto, which is an odd thing to advertise on a menu but then make it so subtle it can’t be tasted. We both however, enjoyed the quirk of ordering tapas style Italian food and it was refreshing to be able to try a range of different small dishes. Whilst we probably wouldn’t return for dinner, we would come back for drinks and cannot recommend the wine waiter more, he made our evening. And though the staff could be more attentive, they could not be friendlier so we still left with a smile...
Read moreWe came here during our staycation in Harrogate on a colleagues recommendation and we were not disappointed. We rang up to make a booking on the day and was accommodated thankfully.
It’s Italian tapas which were all exceptional! We had 5 tapas between the 2 of us - arancini, bistecca (steak with truffle and cheese), antipasti board, meatballs, Frito miso (seafood platter). All of which were gorgeous and highly recommend - especially the steak as it was simply the best steak we’ve ever eaten.
We also had a gin & Italian lemonade, 2 craft beers (come in bottles poured into glasses so not a full pint) and a negroni cocktail. We also tried their own Palma violet liquor that they recommended goes into champagne - we tried a glass of this each which was stunning!!
All this came to a reasonable £116 which considering the quality of the food, the amount of drinks / food we’d had, and the fact it’s a Michelin star awarded restaurant in 2018 and 2020 (that we didn’t know at the time and were pleasantly surprised!) is unbelievable great value for money!
One thing we loved about stuzzi was the fact that despite being such a high quality restaurant and Michelin star awarded, it was a casual atmosphere and wasn’t at all pretentious or “stuffy” as the waiters had on Adidas tops and trainers for example. Can’t wait to return and will happily recommend to anyone! It’s...
Read moreOne of the best meals I've had in a long time, the food here is really going to stay with me. Inventive flavours with an aura of a true Italian restaurant. Felt like I was somewhere in Italy. Just incredible, loved every bit of the menu we tried. Hearty and warming food with a touch of modernity and powerful flavours. We demolished our little selection in about 10 minutes, quite possibly a record for us, however the food was just that good. The flatbreads are INCREDIBLE regardless of what topping it has on it. Finally, we tried a dish of thinly sliced carpaccio of beef sirloin and my god was it good, I'm a sucker for a tartare so to me this was an incredibly exciting dish. This dish had some sort of freeze dried (?) sage on top which was a whole other experience, never had that before but I want it on everything! All in all, I will be returning to either their Harrogate or Leeds branch and will always keep Stuzzi in the back of my mind as a food spot when visiting those places.
P.S. i need to buy heap loads of the mushroom and green...
