Tam's Kitchen — Restaurant in England

I visited my son in paignton who is described by the owner as an OG of customers. He has been shouting from the rooftops about Tams since before the restaurant opened (it started as a home delivery only business a few years ago. My expectations were high, I'm not a full vegan but do enjoy good vegan cuisine (which can be difficult to find if you're looking for more than microwaved slop). Tams is warm and welcoming, you're greeted by a "friend" you never knew you had and guided to a cosy table. Looking around i didn't find a spec of dust or plates piling up, other restaurants take note! The menu is exciting with something for everyone, and you can see the chef Amber, cooking everything to order. Emma was fantastic with all the front of house tasks and aiding in the open kitchen and Tam herself was obviously proud of her team and her restaurant. The food was out of this world and there was plenty of it, fresh, made to order, served in a timely fashion and at a very reasonable price. Try the waffles for desert, I dare you to find a better dish, well done Amber for that one. The atmosphere is cosy, exciting, romantic all at the same time. I love this place, Tam and her team are some of the nicest people I've ever met, the journey from South Wales was most definitely worth it. Gorgeous space with incredibly friendly staff.

I had the loaded Korean BBQ chik'n fries, and they were so good; the vegan cheese sauce is truly out of this world. Also loved how crispy the chik'n was!!

I will definitely be back, because I want to try everything on the menu.

My only constructive criticism is that the kimchi pieces were super big, and hard to cut in the plastic basket (kept cutting up chunks of wax paper underneath) so I think because of how saucy and fabulous it is, it would be easier to eat off a plate or bowl

Also, the pub quiz was so well-organized...

We had a fantastic time at Tam’s Kitchen - it’s a cosy little restaurant with a surprisingly wide variety of delicious vegan dishes. Six of us visited last month to celebrate my daughter’s birthday, and even my partner, who definitely isn’t vegan, really enjoyed the food.
