Siam Garden Thai Restaurant — Restaurant in England

I've been a couple of times and have stuck to the usual green curry order. This time we tried something different with steamed dim sum (excellent), pork neck (very good and well worth trying) and a lamb massaman curry. The lamb massaman was fantastic. Rich gravy, tender and tasty lamb. The potato in the curry created a rich gravy and the potato tasted great, holding all the flavour from the curry. The service was good. It was pretty quiet in the restaurant (a Tuesday) and only one person serving so with food and drink for a few tables meant a bit of running around. The food came quickly. The restaurant was nice and clean and well decorated with lots of Thai statues. Ambience was a bit quiet... could do with some music or something. But, this is a great restaurant and the food was good enough for me to try...

A different experience altogether from 2 years ago, before the restaurant changed hands. Much better food! We went there this time, four of us, to celebrate a friend's 50th birthday. I'd give 5 stars for the tasty food and presentation, but service lets it down - after not being allowed to change my mind about what I wanted to order(!), and later having dishes removed from around me while I was still eating, and feeling pressured to get finished. Turns out the kitchen closes at 9 so we were unable to have desserts (unless we wanted ice cream) - we weren't told this until it was too late. They weren't too happy with us sitting around for a bit longer with jasmine tea and we were ushered out by 9.30 - closing time! So for all that it's 3&1/2 stars and not 5....a friendlier...

Was really quite shocked at the rudeness of staff at this restaurant when we tried to go to lunch here with a party of four including a toddler. Restaurant was totally empty at lunchtime but the staff were really rude and hostile to the presence of a child in the group. The waiter refused to accommodate a buggy, in spite of an utterly desolate restaurant, and it was clear that children were not welcome and that our business was not appreciated. I have rarely felt so demeaned or rudely disregarded in a public space. It was very clear that we were not welcome, simply because my young son was with us. I rarely leave negative reviews, but this was exceptionally and actively hostile and I will not be going...
