The Village Cafe — Restaurant in England

Upon entering the cafe, we were greeted by a local lady, it appeared that she had been sitting in the cafe for sometime as her table was clear, she was hassling most of the customers, it was clear she was lonely but we felt the staff could've asked her to move on, she was loud and bothersome. We waited around 20minutes for one of the waitresses to come and take our order, they were busy chatting between themselves and drinking cans of drinks at the till, I wanted to go up to the till but a sign read to the customers that we needed to be patient! The food came quick! However, the bread roll that came with our soup had mould on it, the waitress took it away and replaced it with a completely different type of bread roll. The soup was hot but the fumes from the soup actually made my eyes water, when tasted, there was so much vinegar in it, we couldn't eat it! A total waste of money! Dissatisfied and disappointed are only two words without being rude! Looks like they don't care about any negativity, telling a customer to eat elsewhere shows they don't want to improve...

I had a lovely and extremely well priced ham, egg and chips. Cooked to order and fresh! I don't know what more I could I ask for! Passed this place many times and I've lived in Street all my life; to get a boring old sandwich but truly the value and quality exceed the price I paid for what I received. I would highly recommend the place for a light bite. Just an additional note, I forgot to to scan in but was warmly and promptly to leave a number or use the app. Very vigilant on Covid-19 procedures. Whilst arriving I could hear people leaving very satisfied which being a first time visit for myself, was very reassuring. Tables are clean, well spaced and very safe. Will definitely return for a lunch break from Clarks village!! And just a quick walk up from farm road from the zebra crossing!! Just wish I took a photo! Will be back in January 2021!! One of the best English breakfasts in the area! I came in with my friend and we were Initially greeted by the friendly staff, one of which showed us to a table and promptly took our order when we were ready. We both opted for the full English breakfast. It arrived within 10 minutes of ordering, beautifully presented on the plates. We were very satisfied when we tucked in. Everything was freshly cooked and we were especially impressed with the delicious butchers sausages and bacon. Safe to say that not a morsel was left at the end.
