Taste — Restaurant in England

This venue is so small yet they reserve multiple seats/tables at one time??! Be aware that you may sit at a table and then be told that they forgot to tell eachother it was reserved and forgot to put a notice on it. With 5/6 tables in total, to have 2 reserved seems wrong. We were seated, told about soup, given menus, then told to leave as there were no other tables free. It smacks of special status given to some customers rather than being a cafe that you can walk in off the street. Really badly handled and the food is not different or special enough so I won't visit there again, not worth it when you can get similar food and a guaranteed table and great service at other great cafes in the...

I have been buying sandwiches at 'Taste' delicatessen regularly for over six months. Farmhouse cheddar and tomato, smoked salmon and cream cheese, beef and horseradish, all excellent and made specially to order. Their home-made tartlets, cup cakes, shortbread etc are also delicious. Prices are on a par with Reeves and Greggs but the quality and service far superior. They also do hampers and offer an interesting and unusual range of mouth-watering foods and drinks. If you consider yourself to be, like me, a massive food snob, eat here and you won’t be disappointed, it’s a genuine immersive experience in simple food done very, very well. I don’t blame a couple of folks feeling sour when they didn’t get to eat as it is stunning, but we’re only human eh, everyone makes mistakes but I’m certain the owners will take it all on board.
