Horrible experience, went in for a table of two. Got told no tables due to not booking and despite the place being dead!
I then got told we would have 30 minutes max if we wanted a table to eat, drink and finish. I explained wasn’t enough time and surely you could fit in two people.
The waitress then said we had a two hour window to confuse me and my partner even more despite just telling us no room or if room a maximum time of 30 mins.
We got brought to the wrong table and were moved, the tables are disgusting. They are wonky and the tabletops are sticky. Idk how your meant to enjoy your meal/drinks with tables that aren’t fit for purpose.
I went to the bar to ask for ales which I got told only 2 are on despite having signs all over for a variety of selection of ales available. One was an ale other a IPA costing for a pint £6.20!!
The systems broke multiple times so I couldn’t pay then got told to sit down and they will come. They never and then came 10-15 minute afterwards asking if we paid for the drinks. Due to my honest nature I told them I didn’t but to rely on customers to be honest about paying drinks is sketchy esp for a business trying to make money.
I ordered the prawn cocktail to be told no prawns then they came back and said oh we have them now. Bread had no butter so it was dry.
Sauce wasn’t the proper prawn cocktail sauce as made with tomato sauce/mayo for the prices I’d expect proper ingredients.
I ordered the korma which wasn’t anything to rave about ngl a frozen curry from Asda or Aldi would’ve been the same or even nicer!
My partner got the turkey roasts and the meat quality was disgusting, dry, had a foul smell so he didn’t eat it. £70 plus spent and was awful from the start to get go.
No waiter service and everytime we got a meal no fork/knife had to wait 3-5 minutes before we could eat. If I could this review would be a 0/5 wouldn’t ever recommend and I won’t be returning. Waste of time and waste of money! Shocking sort your stuff out ASAP or you...
Read moreWe had put in a booking for 14. We were given a table of 10 and a seperate table of 4 and we were put right by the door to the toilets. First we ordered drinks and starters, I was told they didn't have peach schnapps by one of the managers but she wasn't aware that Archers is peach schnapps, the beer was flat and a pint of coke was the same price as a beer and the garlic bread starter had a hair on it. On the menu for the roast dinner it just said seasonal veg, we weren't told what the veg was and we weren't asked about any allergies. Roast potatoes were burnt as were the sweet potato fries and garlic bread. We had to ask several times about additional sides that had been ordered. The gammon was served with beans instead of peas. The steak was cold and £2 extra for peppercorn sauce when you get just enough to fill a shot glass. I also asked for mustard which never arrived. One staff member brought out a portion of cauliflower cheese and warned us to be careful cause the dish was hot before placing it within grabbing distance of my 8 month old daughter who was sat in a high chair. The only kids meal that was ordered was brought out last. The lid on the kids milkshake hadn't been put on properly so leaked everywhere. There is a lot more I could list but I would be here all night writing. The staff just didn't seem to have a clue with what they are doing. It really is a shame as my group have spent a fair bit of money today. Annoyingly we were also hurried off our table rather rudely. Told us at 3.50 that they need the table back for 4pm, we werent made aware of this at the time of booking or when we arrived. The only good thing was the desserts, had they been bad it would have been 1 star. Won't be in any rush to...
Read moreToday was Father’s Day and it was not great. - table of 6 at 4.30pm - the menu was limited, only 1 steak on, and no pizzas.
We opted for roast dinner - all came luke warm, very little meat (2 slices) - one meal came swimming in gravy and one was dry
Gammon on was not gammon but was ham and had an inedible Yorkshire pudding on the Kids meals which came out last.
Veg was different on kids meals, one had peas the other cabbage. - we also asked if they came with Yorkshire puddings - told No so ordered extra and then they came with 2 Yorkshire puddings
Puddings - Rocky road Sunday came with a tiny chunk of brownie and no marshmallows - eventually told at table when somebody came to speak to us that they had no marshmallows, choc orange cake was dry and over cooked - by this time our other guests had already eaten
Kids pencils were Not sharpened and the table had empty plates on for a long time.
no check back done on table either and when went to tell the bar, it was very busy so not wanting to wait had to eat with other guests.
we were given a replacement pudding and a refund on 2 x puddings and a roast. While sufficient to sort out meals, it was not a very special Father’s Day meal (as it was my food that was the problem) - and also an apology that was very strange “the man behind the bar is 2 weeks in and must be nervous” - if this is the case then why is he working.
Toilets were horrible and toilet roll holders on the floor.
There are many basics not done, and could have been resolved with some better training of the team and concentration on check backs -chef team needs some more practice...
