Went for a meal last night and had great meal. Under new ownership, but the landlord was so friendly, couldn't do enough for you. Great atmosphere for a week night. Wasn't sure at first whether to stay as the menu was limited. We were so glad we stayed the Gammon meal was 10/10 cooked to perfection. The puddings were great especially the Sticky toffee pudding. Great friendly service, quick service at the bar, food came at a reasonable time for freshly prepared food . Lovely clean pub with ample parking. Visiting friends and decided to pop in at the blackhorse for sunday lunch AMAZING the beef was pink lovely thick gravy and the roast potatoes OMG Lovely green vegetables & leek bake was a lovely alternative to the normal cauliflower cheese you get in other venues Didnt have dessert but what I saw in other tables they too looked great you get so much for your money here The pub has lovely little snug areas and alcoves great beer garden caters for everyone the staff super friendly and go the extra mile will be back one word describes this jewel in the crown simply...

Young Ryan is a real credit to the black horse, welcoming, friendly and couldn’t do enough, as were the superb waitresses on staff. Menu had many great choices to choose from and drinks were varied too. Found James the owner runs a very tight ship and goes out of his way for customers, sadly we did find an issue with Mike at the bar, his attitude really let the place down, maybe a case of a bad day, but unlike the other fantastic staff here he’s not the most welcoming or social barman around. I’m sure James can train him up to a better standard. Good visit...
