Lovely little tea shop in the Shambles with inside and outside seating, good food and great cakes. We chose a walnut coffee sponge cake, which was moist and delicious. The pork bun was just like my nan used to make. Lovely fresh bun topped with apple sauce, a generous slice of roast pork and a good slice of stuffing. Service was friendly and ambience was nice. Value for money when compared to other tea houses in the town and well worth a visit.

Lovely little cafe that was very busy when I visited recently. I really enjoyed my quiche and salad and the cakes on display looked tasty, though I didn't have one. My only concern was a dog cage that sat just outside the kitchen and was also close to the toilets, so a potential trip hazard as well as being unhygienic. I love dogs but that's not right, imo

The Bolthole was a great find for us three cyclists this morning. Located on a quiet street with old building and character the outside seating was perfect for us; we enjoyed a warm welcome great bacon and egg on bloomer bread, and coffee (good enough we had two cups!) before heading up the hill again.

What looked a nice place to have some lunch was let down once inside. Apart from a couple of specials on the board the menu is basically no better than a basic cafe. Drink choice was quite thin too compared to what can be available these days, e.g no smoothies, no fresh juices. The food took more than 20 minutes to arrive, which was a soup, a sandwich and a teacake. Whilst a table of a young couple and child that had arrived and ordered after us had three meals served before us. The sandwich came in white bread instead of granary as ordered. Then there was no apology for it. The grandmother of the family run business had sat at a table to fold paper napkins whilst in her cooking apron and didn't seem to mind taking up space for new customers arriving in doing so. Why this wasn't being done in the kitchen or later when it wasn't lunchtime we don't know. Much as we wanted to enjoy something from the cake collection (which looked pretty good), we didn't feel wanted to be there. The place had a very local person's feel to it which with less tourists at this time of year may seem reasonable, but hospitality always counts. Be aware of the big step up for the front door if you have any difficulty...

Well this place has not just a great name. It is friendly and so welcoming. The cakes will make you put on weight just looking at them. They have an incredible of locally baked cakes for all tastes. The staff are very relaxed and still so attentive to detail & customer service. The place is spotless. The location in the shambles is a perfect spot for sun and shade. Dogs welcomed too. Breakfast, lunch menu's as good as the cakes, your will want to go back. Great coffee and selection of drinks. Jo & Jo the owners have made this place a hub to welcome locals and visitors. This place welcomes people to the Heart of Bradford on Avon so drop in and experience life not in...

Lovely cafe, with delicious-looking cakes. But we went in for coffee and, I must say, it was about the worst coffee I've had! The coffee was pre-ground (at that price!) and open to the air; the person who was making it didn't tamp it down into the holder, and it was scalding hot - a sure-fire way to ruin coffee. With some basic training it's so easy to make good coffee if you have decent beans and a decent machine. Disappointing, as cafe and...
