I love the ambience of The Bull, especially with two sections for either of a casual drink/meal in the cosy original pub or slightly more formal in the larger, modern dining room extension. The wine list is fantastic, especially the Shiraz on the full bodied red wine selection- in fact we have visited on multiple occasions for this. I’m not blown over by the food, having dined here several times in the past few months. Sweet potato fries are standard and good, beetroot hummus with crudités a little watery and bland (and a few more sticks wouldn’t go amiss) while the butternut squash wellington I ordered yesterday was incredibly dry and if I’m quite honest not worth the price of £12.50. Pastry overcooked, carrots limp & the other vegetables bland and dry. A vegetarian gravy may have helped but not saved it. Great presentation, love the plates, the cosy nook we sat in and the dog friendliness but the food just wasn’t quite good enough. I would love to see the food increase in quality at The Bull as it’s such a lovely pub and local to where my partner and I live. From now on we will be visiting for drinks only.

Went to the bull with my wife and two daughters for Sunday lunch. We each only had a main. We were very politely greeted and taken to our seats, the seating was pretty full which is always a good sign - there was a good feeling around the room with plenty of chat and laughter. Drinks were ordered and served pretty quickly from our lovely waitress. My wife and eldest had the roast pork belly (pic attached), my youngest had the sausage and mash whilst I had the beef shin & ale pie. We also ordered a side of cauliflower cheese. The food was served in a reasonable time considering we were right in the middle of Sunday lunchtime. Each dish was presented impeccably, with a decent portion and good quality food. Each one of us cleared our plates which is always a great sign and thoroughly enjoyed our meals. We would all go back to eat here and highly recommend the venue and food.

A bit of a find, the older (front) part of the pub has been part of Bracknell, for many years and has survived the building of the Lexicon shopping centre, which is great, the pub has a modern and swish-looking rear which greatly adds to the size for diners and perhaps events. The food is good quality, I enjoyed a Devon crab sandwich today, it arrived quickly and was well presented and enjoyable, the prices for food and drink do not seem exorbitant which was also good. Would I go back, yes, and also great for ad-hoc catch-ups and meetings over lunchtimes and in to the afternoon in the week.

Overall was ok. But we were seated in the couches near the corner, where we have 2 little ones. So they were sat very low. Checked if we could move tables, but no other options available unfortunately. Were offered cushions but just wasn't entirely practical. So my 4year old and 2yr old had to be on their knees for the meal to be able to get to their food. The 2 waitresses weren't very attentive either, we had to go up to them to get attention because when we were sat at the table, waving, trying to get eye contact, noone would look in our direction. We weren't offered any kids colouring bits when we arrived. Asked for starters and mains to come all together so kids didn't have to wait, but waitresses admitted she forgot to mention that point to the kitchen. so starters came, and had to wait a bit before mains came out. In addition, when trying to get attention for the bill, that took ages as well. Just noone looked in our direction, despite all of us practically waving for attention. Also I arranged a cake for my mother's birthday. But the waitress unfortunately dug her finger into the side of the cake when she put it down. She did apologise but it's just not a pleasant experience. Real shame because we've wanted to try the bull for ages now, and thought it would be a perfect, but after last nights experience, won't be coming back again. Overall impression was...

Really, really disappointing. I booked to celebrate my birthday with my family here and I actually felt embarrassed.

The waitress needs serious training and a lesson in how to speak to people. We had informed her about gluten intolerances prior to ordering despite this she took it upon herself to cancel part of our order and didn't think she needed to inform us. This meant one of us was left waiting for a starter that wasn't going to turn up. When we queried it she kept repeating "it's alright." Well, clearly it isn't.

Several of us had to repeatedly ask for sides and drinks that we had ordered. Service was slow and disjointed.

Male server came over and asked if we wanted the TV on, to which I replied we didn't. Apparently my answer didn't matter as he processed to speak over me to my cousin and uncle. Rude.

I then overheard the waitress talking about my auntie as if she was the one to blame. Not appreciated at all. She needs a serious hospitality lesson. Tip: if I could hear it, so could other customers.

The food took over an hour to arrive. However, it was tasty. Small mercies.

Management did offer a discount to compensate but by that point the atmosphere was ruined and I will absolutely not return. Management need to seriously look at training the service staff otherwise they will be...

Travelled 40 miles to have mother's day lunch.which was a lovely surprise on the day. On arrival walked up to the bar,and kindly asked for a table for 2. To my surprise the young gentleman behind the drinks counter, immediately said sorry we are fully booked, with no attempt to double check. My daughter asked if she could use the ladies which was ok and directed.i truly felt very dissatisfied with the fully booked part. So in the toilet I decided to call the same place and asked for a table for 2. Very smart intelligent lady responded by checking availability.Oh yes we can give you a table.asked for time and name I said within the next 15-20min gave her my name. All was good. Got there taken to our table no problem. The food was amazingly delicious ,the service I couldn't fault ,it was Ace. Here's my problem...Staff need to be trained to sell professional service to customers,we the customers make the business thrive. The least this gentleman could of done was check the booking situation and then say whether there is available table or not. It makes one wonder if it's the colour you are,or is it just ignorance and don't know how to deal with customer service. I will go back to eat only because I enjoyed the food and the waiters...
