We checked in to a warm welcome we booked for dinner and breakfast on there meal deal there was 10 in our group. We went down for dinner to be greated by 2 lovely girls behind the bar who informed us the chef wasn't going to cook for us as he was on his own, he was then informed he had to as we had the meal deal offer, we then ordered and 3 of our group had starters which they had placed on the table then not a minute later there mains came they told them to take them back, they then was informed by the waitress that the chef who was called Bruno refused to make a new mains we felt sorry for the waitress as she was doing her best to please everyone, unfortunately Bruno needs to change careers as he is no chef in my eyes as I have been a hospitality manager for more 6 years. We went down for breakfast the next day and we was told to order as couples as Bruno was on again and couldn't cope the food come out just warm so once again very disappointed, we booked somewhere else for dinner the second night and came back for drinks at the bar we was informed by the young barman that last orders was at 10.30 on a Friday night whilst there was quite a few customers in there, unfortunately his attitude was not good some staff training needs to be done as you are going to loose alot of money, we booked to come again as we had such a lovely experience the year before when it was a beefeater, we won't...
Read moreWe stayed as a family of 4 with primary school aged kids in a family room, B&B, for 2 nights; we were attending a wedding a 15 minute drive away. |I have to write a review because the value for money & service we received was exceptional!|Quiet hotel, mega comfortable bed, friendly & professional staff, clean, fantastic bath & shower. |We were able to schedule an iron and ironing board & I needed a third key cut in between the wedding ceremony & evening reception and this was done no questions. |We’d missed dinner on our first night but they could advise where we could get fast food & supplied us with plates & cutlery to our door. |MASSIVE shout out to David in the PM & to Nicky and Co AM for the iron and being interested in the wedding we were attending. |Ideally located for Wokingham and we also found a local shop at the wild ridings estate; enjoyed shopping at the lexicon & bowling at the Hollywood bowl. My kids didn’t want to leave ! |It was a really relaxed stay and the breakfast was top notch - do order a full English because it was...
Read moreIt depends on what you want to stay for. We went to Ascot for the day, and this hotel was easy to get to and from. The restaurant needed help - not enough staff, tired and not as clean as it should be, but the staff they had worked tirelessly and always had a smile on their faces. Because of the staff we enjoyed our meal. Breakfast would have been a nightmare if we were worried about time. Again, understaffed! Some of the same team that had been serving late the evening before were Still smiling, but every time we tried to get something like cutlery, mugs, bowls, etc, there weren't any. However, the cooked breakfast was very nice, this restaurant (attached to the hotel) could be good. They need more staff to add to their already wonderful team and a bit of a tidy up. The hotel- basic comfort, as you'd expect. Clean, good black out curtains and a comfy bed. Nothing more, nothing less. It was a bit noisy for us as we were right...
