Group of 8 Afternoon tea at the weekend. The themed decoration of Harry Potter was great to see inside the venue. The afternoon tea however was very disappointing. The sandwiches were cut into shapes i.e a Tie or an Owl with weird pen decorations over them, very child like not to mention a waste of bread to achieve the shapes, filling weren't up to scratch & my cheese was pre grated bagged cheese. No choice of bread just white. Slices of cake were not homemade & cheap & not cheerful! Scones were only fruited & again not homemade & no clotted cream just a sad packet of foil butter, jam left in a pot already on the table on arrival which was open to the elements & half full. Small cakes were dry & not homemade. The afternoon tea came with either a glass of Prosecco or tea/coffee & the tea came with no teapot & no offer of a refill. I would say that if this review was a school report it would say "Must try Harder"! Definitely not value for money! I would suggest that the owner book into "The Rabbit Hole" in Stoke town centre to go & eat a proper Afternoon tea with Homemade produce, proper sandwiches with a choice of bread & Tea served in a Teapot. I've been for many Afternoon teas over the years & hands down this was the worst & such a shame as the theme is great but the food was well below par. Staff were pleasant but the food was an utter waste of money. I would add that if it wasn't for my politeness of not upsetting our group host I would have informed you on the day & would have not paid the full price...
Read moreI had an absolutely fantastic experience at The Corner Cauldron Bar and Tea Room in Congleton! From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with a warm and welcoming smile from the owner, who genuinely made me feel at home.
The atmosphere is truly magical — a perfect blend of cozy charm and lively fun. The bar offers an impressive selection of cocktails, all of which are creatively crafted and taste just as fantastic as they look. Their wine list is also excellent, and the teas and coffees are perfect for a relaxing break or a catch-up with friends.
What really sets this place apart are the fun extras — engaging games, karaoke nights, PlayStation gaming, and a lively, inclusive vibe that encourages everyone to have a great time. Whether you're there to unwind with a drink, enjoy some entertainment, or just soak up the welcoming atmosphere, The Corner Cauldron is the place to be. Prices are really brilliant for what your being served
Overall, I highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for a friendly, fun, and slightly magical experience in Congleton. I’ll definitely be...
Read moreBooked the bar out for my Mrs surprise 40th last weekend and we had a blast! Even if we picked the songs and the guests it's an incredible atmospheric themed bar with Sam as a great host providing awesome cocktails and quizmastery skills. I cannot comment on the food but if it's as good as everything else I'm sure it will be awesome! We also had a live singer for the evening called Sammi and she was also extremely good and super friendly and became part of our quiz team. Young lad behind the bar Bayley also did a cracking job of looking after us and keeping the cocktails coming. Can't wait to go back there on my next visit to Congleton town although it might be a while due to the massive hangover!
Completely our fault they ran out of...
