Itās something about the shape of the bar that presents itself as soon as you open the door. Sure there are spaces for privacy but for me itās all about the bar. It forces you to socialise and share stories. The beer is excellent but thatās not the main thing. Itās everything a pub should be. Great, friendly staff (especially Courteney & Ali), a quality range of drinks, especially gins (Harrogate prices unfortunately) and 2 inside/outside smoking rooms. Plus a range of highly random board games, quiz nights, and live music Wednesdays. Haven't eaten here, except from the excellent range of bar snacks, and I mean really good range with some classics thrown in, but I hear the pizzas are good. Extremely dog-friendly with free bar-dog treats at the bar....
