Jan Tregeagle's Eggs
In cornish legend jan tregeagle was a wicked man who, after helping free an innocent man by giving evidence from beyond the grave at a trial was kept from the hounds of hell by being set a series of impossible tasks to keep him busy until judgement day. This dish draws on that legend and takes inspiration from the italian "eggs in purgatory". 2 eggs are gently cooked in the fires of hell - a spicy, smoky tomato sauce, and served with toasted sourdough.
Toast & Jam Or Marmalade Or Marmite
Sourdough bread, toasted & served with cornish strawberry jam or cornish 3 fruit marmalade or marmite (love it!)
"Thunder & Lightning" Toast - A Garden Cafe Special!
A nostalgic cornish treat, but for breakfast! Sourdough toast served slathered in real cornish clotted cream & sparked across with lightning bolts of golden syrup - it has to be tried!
Simple Sarnies
Served on soft white bread with crisps, a simple thin sliced sandwich (ham or cheese) (perfect for kids)
Simple Bacon Sarnie
White bread & bacon - what more do you need?

The Garden Cafe Provided a wedding lunch and drinks for us (32 People) next door at the trenance Function room. not only was the food absolutely stunning, the staff were fantastic too, no request was too much for the team! the communication upto the day was also great, always felt everything was in hand, given i had never organised anything like this in my life these guys were a life saver and steered me in the right direction of what was needed and they even stopped open late for my guests to carry on drinking through there normal closing time!

Visited here a 17th Aug. Great place as we had been before (the year previous).

Unfortunately we arrived about 2:30, and there seemed to be no food available. Only Cream Teas! A shame, as we had all been looked forward to a bit more substantial.

But needless to say, we were hungry. So Cream Teas all round. We weren't disappointed. The Scones, Jam and Clotted Cream were all phenomenal. Ended up with far too much to eat, even though we were hungry.

Well worth a visit (but obviously at an earlier...

Heard about this place at a rest stop on our way to holiday in Newquay and just had to check it out. Was not disappointed! Simple food, done well. Coffee is also locally roasted and has an amazing unique flavour. DOG FRIENDLY!!! We didn't have ours, but was great to see and be able to meet other dogs. Plus, the service was fast, friendly and really lovely. Nice places to walk nearby as well to make a bit of a good visit to this bit of Newquay. Will definitely be back on...

I felt the staff there was cheap and only wanted to take my money and not give me a good customer service. I paid for 2 post of tea and only got one. On the menu it says tea made with tealeafs and not bags but they didn't care, all they wanted was to take my money and save there stock. Most of the woman staff there apart from 2 kept giving me funny looks, laughing, staring at me. Didn't like the customer service at all

Gorgeous little spot, recently refurbished and looks stunning inside. Stopped for a pasty and a Cornish gin cocktail which were both very nice. They also had a ‘Thunder and Lightning’ scone on the menu, which I’d not heard of before but will definitely be back to try. Staff are lovely and it’s right next to the Trenance Cottages (which are well worth a look around too).
