We came in to the pub for Sunday Roast on Easter Sunday following the church service. Greeted by a smile and warm welcome we did not have to wait long for the table. The pub is cosy and the eating area is well laid out and seats about 28. Sunday roast was a choice of starters with the mains being roast beef turkey, salmon a vegetarian and vegan option. The beef came with Yorkshire pudding and parsnips, all with a side of vegetables, roast potatoes and gravy. To say the position sizes are generous is an understatement, we had to ask for some to be wrapped up to take home. Desert was apple pie and cream and a chocolate brownie, both very nice. Other dessert available was treacle tart or bread and butter pudding. The timings were spot on and the price very reasonable.

Stopped in with my partner for dinner on the first night of a getaway. After a long journey, the George and Dragon was the perfect place for a quiet meal. The pub is cosy, inviting, and warm, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. We were lucky enough to stop in on pasta and pizza night, and had a great lasagne and tortellini as well as a decadent syrup sponge for dessert. The pizza selection was surprisingly good for a pub and there's definitely something for everyone! As a real ale lover, the beer selection is great as well and they even managed to find some pear cider for my partner. Would highly recommend for dinner and we will definitely be back when we come back to the area.

Great local.. Msg them the week before regarding about the 6 nations and dinning, if we'd need to book. Mgg'd back almost straightaway with a more detailed answer to my question a little later. Was busy in there early on. Not the biggest front bar. There is a back room with a lot more space. Service and beer choice was good. Wifey is a vegi, choices were slightly limited for her ( they'd run out of what she wanted). I had the ale pie, was goood, portion size ok. Place was very popular with walkers. Would go back without qualms.

Ordered fish and chips on Just Eat. Delivery arrived late and it was just chips. Called the restaurant and they said they would send me another one out. Another 15 mins later a guy arrived with the food. He doesn't seem to understand what good customer service is and his attitude was rude and for some reason he was very defensive. He even asked me to check my food was the right order! Shocking really. We ordered pizzas a few days later and decided to collect instead due to issues with delivery the last time. We were given a collection time over an hour after ordering. Arrived on time and the pizzas weren't ready. They hadn't even started cooking them. Waited 10 minutes for one to come with the chips. Then waited another 10 minutes for the other pizza by which time the first pizza was sitting there getting cold and the chips getting cold. Shocking! Tried to give some polite and constructive feedback to the staff and they were not receptive at all and appeared to be defensive. I got the impression they clearly don't know how to operate a takeaway or delivery business, nor how to treat customers respectfully and reasonably. One of them told me he had been driving around all night in the fog which is completely irrelevant as we were collecting pizzas! It was almost as if he was looking for pity. Very odd. He was displaying quite strange behaviour and was really defensive and getting upset. The other didn't seem to be very sincere and it felt like he didn't really care and wanted to get rid of us. Not a good experience, they appear to have no clue about resolving problems and customer dissatisfaction effectively and rationally. Will not be using again. To top it off pizzas were nearly cold when we got home. Terrible. It's a shame because the food is...

Coronavirus Covid-19 risk! Zero effort to provide a safe environment for customers and staff. Crammed in like sardines. No social distancing at all. Queues at bar with people bumping into each other. Walked in and straight out. It should be closed if it can't provide a safe environment. I was truly horrified!

In response to your reply. People were standing and drinking at the bar. To the left hand side as you walk in the tables were back to back. As I walked through the alley between the front of the pub and the rear I was touching others walking in the other direction. I noticed only one hand sanitizer station. The tables were very close and I doubt you could get any more tables in as there wouldnt be room so I seriously doubt any were removed. There was zero social distancing. Scotch eggs were stored uncovered directly next to the till with staff talking over the top if them, no doubt contaminating them. I have been to several pubs whereby ordering is done through apps and customers are seated apart with barriers between them. I suggest you read the government guidelines again and then seriously consider whether you should...

I went in today, just me and my dog, for the 2 course sunday roast. It was a very good price with lovely friendly helpful service and they were very welcoming of my dog. Best of all though was my crunchy parsnip veggie roast with a fabulous range of vegetables and proper tasty gravy. Followed by a huge portion of plum and apple crumble with perfectly crunchy crumble and those lovely sticky gooey bits of fruit you get bubbling at the sides. When I go back to walk in the area again I will definitely go in again for a meal. And a good choice of beers on tap too. Perfect!

Well I went back today, just a few weeks later. This time I was there just as they were opening on a Thursday. Just as friendly and welcoming to me and my dog, as before. This time I had the homemade veggie chilli. Delicious! Just the right amount of chilli heat. Perfect. And the crumble again, which was as lovely as before. Even a different Shropshire pale ale to try. Again I look forward to walking in the area so I can go in for my tea on...
