Had breakfast at Baker and Cook with my partner 2 days in a row during a short break. Both days we were greeted with smiles and had fantastic meals. The croque Madame, avocado toast, granola, and shakshuka were amazing, and the coffee is exceptional. The owners are such nice people and we had a great chat with them both days. If we lived in the area we would be back as often as we could! Highly recommend for breakfast, lunch, and brunch.

This was our first time at Baker and Cook, and we'd heard good reports. We dropped in for Sunday breakfast, and we weren't disappointed. House Fruit & Nut Granola and a Breakfast Pattie accompanied by café latte were delicious, and served with a smile and a friendly word. We'll certainly be back again soon! 🅔🅓🅘🅣: We've been back on a few occasions and Baker & Cook certainly maintains its high standards of food and service.

Booked for Simon’s birthday based on reviews and oh my goodness it far exceeded our expectations. We were spectacularly late and everyone was so delightful and forgiving. The food was perfect. Rare beef for Simon and piedmont peppers with many delights. Then Simon managed pecan tart with bourbon mascarpone (photo) and an extra spoon. Wow what a finish. Dog friendly, people friendly, delightful venue. Thank you!

I took my mum for a birthday lunch here, she has dietary requirements as she eats Vegan food it's hard to find anywhere here that can do something a bit more exciting than a risotto.. There was one option on menu which was absolutely delicious, food was amazing .. It's a nicely decorated place.. my mum is 79 and I wanted her to feel spoilt I'm afraid that the service was not the standard I was expecting it to be.. I had messaged to book a table and to ask about any Vegan options.. before arriving which I always do so that kitchen is aware that they have someone arriving with dietary requirements.. On arrival I was told that there wasn't a table booked and was asked to sit behind a pillar as the table I wanted was booked lol .. I had also booked a table and message to prove this but wax dismissed so I didn't walk in feeling like we were being looked after I had to ask twice for a glass of water and if honest I just felt that we were an annoyance to staff I noticed that the chap on the phone when we came in ..welcomed the couple that walked in after us but completely ignored my mum and me .. I have worked in busy restaurants myself with alot more covers and service really is everything. So sadly I think the food is incredible and deserves 5 stars but service was not anywhere near, A tip to the waitress is not to say there is no table booked as this creates anxiety for the customer but to pop into the back and double check to find out if it was organised by someone else.. I guess I didn't feel as though we were looked after or treated particularly well by front of house.. there were only 3-4 tables to look after so it wasn't to busy .. Highly recommend the food absolutely outstanding but service does let down.. Maybe I will try again see if it was just a...

This is in my opinion one of the best places to eat in Shropshire. Fresh seasonal quality food, cooked to perfection. It’s our second time here and this time we had the cod fillet and the spaghetti with wild garlic and mushrooms, which were amazing, and even our child’s mac and cheese was super delicious. The desserts are excellent and the portions are very generous. We had no wine, so I can’t comment on that. It was a lovely meal and I love leaving a restaurant with the perfect taste in my mouth. Great atmosphere, professional, discreet and friendly waiter and honest price. Can’t wait to go back! Book in advance to avoid...

I booked a table, having been forewarned of the restaurant’s reputation. Good move ! The restaurant is small and intimate. But you get to see what your neighbour has ordered. Most of the tables were reserved until 3pm. The food was amazing! My Mother had Smoked Salmon on a crumpet and I had the Goats cheese and beetroot served on a savoury shortbread, sublime. Beautifully presented and both utterly delicious. We ordered a pudding each but we’re too full so the Treacle tart and Orange polenta cake were demolished, gleefully at home. I would highly recommend and hope to...
