I don't use this word lightly but it was abysmal. It was the worst cafe experience we've ever had. Firstly it's SO expensive! Two breakfast sandwiches, a cup of tea and a very small milkshake was nearly £20. I wouldn't have minded the cost if it was actually any good. The bread on both sandwiches was so stale it was hard in places. The bacon was over cooked and the sausages bland. The only good part of the sandwiches were the perfectly cooked poached eggs. Most of the one sandwich was left due to the bread being so stale and inedible. The only reason I ate mine was because of the high cost - I hate wastage. The milkshake I ordered was the wrong one so it went back and was replaced with the proper flavour. My sister ordered scrambled egg and salmon on sourdough bread it was literally slop which soaked the bread - we complained and were told it was made with cream!!! Who makes scrambled egg with cream!!! The replacement minus cream was just more slop- so runny it could have been poured off the plate - we couldn't eat it and were not offered an alternative. Read moreI really love the coffee in this cafe and have visited repeatedly because of the coffee. The staff are lovely , especially Karen and Emma. I visited very recently and once again had a lovely coffee. I also ordered a sausage and bacon sandwich for I think was £6. Sadly I was disappointed, due to a lack of filling between the slices of thin bread . The sausages were tiny thin sausages and not really suitable for a sandwich. 2 bacon and 2 chipolata doesn't impress .
