Visited Bilash Saturday just gone after it had been recommended. Came around the corner and saw the front of the Indian and I was shocked it looks like a road side cafe. Not very inviting at all. I wasn't really sure if I wanted to go in. Walked through the door and wow a dirty carpet that looked like a heard had trampled through it. Very tight tables. We were asked on numerous times had we booked which we had. We were sat down at a table and waited for someone to come over and give myself and my hubby a menu in the end we had to ask for a menu and drinks. And this seemed to be a typical thing for us through out the night. I do know that the kitchen we short staffed so they informed us. The food was enjoyable, apart from a very long wait. Once finished I thought I will order a coffee but again it seemed that, that had been forgotten. So in the end my hubby asked for the bill only to be asked what a cobra. Bill and cobra do not sound the same. We paid them the bill and we had to went say goodbye and thank you. We both felt that we were an inconvenience to the staff. The restaurant seem to be catering for take aways as people kept coming in and out past the tables to collect there orders. Which is not really what you want when you are trying to enjoy your meal. There should be a separate door or side for people to collect there food as it a very narrow restaurant. We will not...
Read moreWe stumbled on this place as a few of the local pubs weren't serving food after 8pm on a Monday night. Wow thank god we stopped off here !... After bumping in to kal on the high street we made our way In and were seated gratefully by the AC unit being the hottest day of the year so far we were thankful. After seeing the 2 star hygiene rating on the door we weren't holding much hope and was expecting a run of the mill Indian . This couldn't be any further from the truth. We ordered a chicken tikka Parthia and a chicken Pasadena with mushroom pilau and chips with a Chapatti. The meals arrived promptly, they were served on a lovely plate piping hot. As I make British Indian restaurant curries at home I know the pathia should be hot sweet and sour and my god it lived up to expectation. Amazing flavour., the pasanda was for the wife and she also commented on how flavoursome it was, and after having a mouthful I Could only agree. After speaking to si the waiter/owner he explained after only taking over the business for around 2 months he was trying to build on his reputation, which was going well after taking and keeping the previous owners name for the restaurant. His and the kals enthusiasm really shone through having a great rapport with his customers. I really hope this new business thrives as the food speaks for itself. Amazing...
Read moreI used to visit very very regularly and sometimes the service and waiting times are good , sometimes poor. Old knackered carpet has been changed recently but it's still cramped in the restaurant. Wished the front door was fixed as its cold in the winter because the door does not close properly. The food has got better from a few years back , and the recession has seen a modest price increase in the food menu, however the menu is not which that adventurous. My last bill however left me shocked . A 600ml Cobra has been £4.95 for quite a while. Now it's £6.50 !!!! That's quite a jump. Despite having a good relationship with many of the staff , I'm afraid my visits to the BEST INDIAN IN MUCH WENLOCK ( the only Indian in Much Wenlock) will be much...
