Quite possibly the rudest service we've encountered. Didn't even stay long enough to sit down.

Our issue was not waiting for the table but with the person doing the cleaning snapping at us, tutting and shaking his head like a stroppy teenager. Being busy is not an excuse for this behaviour. Only had to wait a few minutes when proprietor advised us a table was about to become free after being cleaned. Once seated and served with choice of refreshments, it was some 20 minutes before food was presented. Well worth the wait as we were in no haste as on holiday. Read moreThis cafe/tearoom has many owners of the years that I have visited. The current owner seems to have got it right. Good home-prepared and cooked food with something to suit most tastes. They offer leaf-tea which is a welcome rarity in this age of the tea-bag sitting somewhere in a jar and loosing all it's flavour. The cakes on display looked inviting and the quiche and salad that I ordered was very tasty. It is extremely good value and for those who cannot be without the internet there is wi-fi available.
