The Blandford Fashion Museum — Attraction in Blandford Forum

Absolutely lovely museum. The exhibitions are really delightful. However, the experience was severely marred by one utterly unpleasant and rude member of staff. She incorrectly charged us for snacks in the tearoom and then accused of us of failing to pay for visiting the museum! I produced the receipt to confirm that we had indeed paid and she still did not have the good grace to apologise for the mistake on her part. This was a shame as we had enjoyed our visit. Lovely visit to this cute museum. Very well presented and lots of info to read about the exhibits. The lady who was selling the tickets was really friendly and invited us to stay for refreshment, in what looked like a very cosy tea room with some yummy cakes. Unfortunately, we had not long had lunch but as we do not live far away, we will return for tea (and maybe another mosey around the museum...

This is a gem of a museum in the heart of Georgian Blandford Forum. The collection of dress from the eighteenth century to 1990 is carefully and accessibly curated so that the visitor can get an insight in the history behind the garments selected for display. There is a very friendly and comfortable tea room to visit aftewards. Probably the most authentic Georgian style experience...
