Don't miss this wonderful English gem! Town museums can be rather hit-or-miss. Blandford's town museum is a huge hit. They manage to cram centuries of history into such a small space, supported by relevant artifacts and some quite astonishingly good dioramas and set-piece displays. What was intended to be a quick half-hour coursesy visit, turned into a mesmerising, fascinating journey into the past. The volunteers running the museum are engaging and knowlegable. Tiny museum but crammed with interesting items. Extremely well explained and labelled. Not too much of any one subject, so suitable for all ages. Small but well-stocked shop.
