The Greyhound - Rock Pub — Restaurant in England

Usually we really enjoy this pub for a Sunday lunch, today however we were severely disappointed. There were only 3 other tables of people in the pub at the time and we were informed that they were waiting on a table to arrive. We wanted to order the Sunday roast from the menu. We were told we weren’t allowed to order the Sunday roast as the reserved tables which hadn’t even arrived yet hadn’t ordered and we would have to wait until they had decided what they were having, baring in mind the pub was near enough empty and it was only 12:30. Are you actually expecting us to believe that you don’t have enough roasts for 3 tables worth of people in the middle of lunchtime on a Sunday? Quite frankly it left us confused. Ordered the Pulled Pork Bun. When it came the meat was definitely off, by both smell and taste; not badly cooked, but very off. When I returned it to the kitchen, the chef said he was 100% certain it was completely good, and thought the problem was my taste buds! Apparently my mother and wife's taste buds had the same problem, and their sense of smell too! Waitress was nice enough, but after that, everyone made a point of saying that the food was fine but I had 'not liked the food'; no, it was off.

No verbal or financial apology; I had to pay for the replacement dish I ordered.
