If you're coming to the area definitely recommend the king's arms stoborough as a first choice! Simply amazing! Best place to eat in Wareham by a mile, it's excellent value for money and the food tastes absolutely incredible and is very well cooked. I had a steak and caramelised onion baguette which was cooked beautifully. We had a smoked haddock special that was gorgeous and the steak and ale pie was to die for. It was so tasty and packed full of meat so it truly was great value. Very friendly and attentive staff with such a cosy and welcoming environment. Wish we came sooner, been living here for 10+ years and tried every place. But this place exceeds all expectations!

Went for late lunch on a Sunday, was served by Michaela, was very friendly and polite, she showed us the daily specials and allowed me to swap a few options on the dish I wanted. Trio of Roasts (Sirloin of Beef/Pork Belly and Lamb) served with seasonal veg, cauliflower cheese, roast potatoes and a Yorkshire Pudding - it was amazing, proper good old hearty pub food. The Plaice with green beans, prawns, samphire and lemon butter was also tender, cooked to perfection and super tasty. Service was superb and cannot fault the attentiveness of Michaela throughout our visit, would highly recommended!!

Reviewing at the table, which I don't normally do. But it's a totally amazing roast. 4 clean plates. And to finish the most amazing creme brulee and the shortbread was totally 👌 😍. Nice to see somewhere that the team members actually help each other. Not just one server, but everyone was at your service. It's very warm and inviting. Called in last minute at 3pm in the afternoon on a Sunday and plenty of tables. A little Gem. There is only one small downside. Maybe a touch more gravy. But this does not affect the 5 stars this place totally deserves.

Whenever we have been in Purbeck a meal at the King's Arms Stoborough has been a highlight. No longer. Once well known for good cuisine it now all has a deep fried mood. Their menu was over subscribed. They did not have this or that. 2 of the 3 draft ciders were unavailable, only only lamp chop, no salmon..So we did not all get our first choices. The same with the wine. We ordered a bottle of Picpoul de Pinet at £27.95. They didn't have it. So we ordered a Pinot Grigio Blush at £23.95. I didn't notice when I paid the bill but we still were charged for the Picpoul. So we were overcharged. That like the food also.left a sour taste in our mouths. I bet my bottom dollar that if the replacement wine had been £4 more expensive they would have charged us the extra. The white bait and the Tempura Prawns were deep fried. The crab cakes were unrecognisable as crab or seafood. They were cloaked in peppers and curry powder. I ate quarter of my portion. The cajun chicken was sub basic pub food. My wife left half of it. We did not request their dessert menu but walked into Wareham to pick a better place. €203 for 6 people badly spent. The staff are friendly but the food is nothing to be proud of. This pub has gone downhill. The food is not value for money. After 20 years of visiting it we will find a replacement which does...

Very disappointing yet again; Ordered Rib Eye Steak medium rare... it arrived overcooked even for a well done steak... didn't complain as I didn't want to spoil the afternoon as it was my fathers treat. My daughter had Fish & Chips but like the steak it was over cooked... she had difficulty cutting into it without chunks flying off her plate and ended up leaving half. The rest of the family had Sunday Roasts; two had beef and my father had lamb. The Beef like the steak and fish was tough and over cooked (I had a slice of my mothers plate to try), I didn't try the lamb but it fell apart easily when I fed it to the dogs when we returned home (my father left half on his plate). Vegetables were in a generous supply but I can't comment what they tasted like however, the roast potatoes were obliterated and Yorkshire puddings like cardboard. What made matters worse was we were the first covers of the day so saying the kitchen was busy was not an excuse... I don't believe they have a qualified Chef as it was disgusting from a professional restaurants point of view. Needless to say I won't be returning until new owners take over! None of the staff asked if we were happy with the meal and have more than likely been told not to ask to avoid complaints. however, the staff were polite and provided a...

Unfortunately my family did not get to experience the food here, which looked lovely when other people were served. Upon arrival, the waitress came across rude and with attitude, not very welcoming at all. Sat us down and told us we had to be gone by 19:30 as the table was booked, which was fine, we had an hour so would be gone by then as there were only two other tables dining. We had our drinks and she asked if we were ready to order straight away, we hadn't even got past looking down half the menu, so we asked for more time. Then we sat for the best part of half an hour being ignored, both my partner and I looked over towards both waitresses on duty who were having a chat, but they turned around, I tried to beacon one over and she turned her back. As my 5 year old was getting inpatient, my partner got up to pay for the drinks, as he put on his jacket the waitresses hurried into the kitchen like school girls.

Never felt so unwelcome in my life 😂 luckily went to a pub down the road from here and had a...
