My family and I decided to go to Church Stretton for a change to our local area of Hereford. I'd heard about The Little Cafe from a friend and decided to eat there then go on to Wilstones Salvage and then take my son to Mad Hatters Soft Play. The drive was very scenic, which I've come to expect from the stunning Herefordshire and Shropshire countryside. The cafe was situated in the town centre and parking was nearby and only a short walk remained to get back to the cafe. The cafe certainly lives up to its name but not to its detriment. It was pleasantly decorated and the staff were down to earth, cheerful and welcoming. There was a decent range of dishes on the menu with classic cafe staples including English breakfasts, toasties, burgers, jacket potatoes and kids options too. My wife and mother in law opted for the full English, my son went for the nuggets, chips and beans and I went for the Little Big Breakfast. There was one option above the Little Big Breakfast which was the Ultimate Breakfast. I have included a picture of the Ultimate Breakfast as the friend who recommended the cafe had sent me a picture of his meal, which prompted our visit. It's worth noting that there is a portion of chips to add to that picture so it's for large appetites only. My Little Big Breakfast was more than enough and consisted of 2 sausages, 2 egg, 2 bacon, 2 hash browns, black pudding, beans, tomatoes, a slice of buttered toast and a slice of bread and butter. A tea or coffee was included but for 50p more you could upgrade to a cappuccino or Latte which we did. I won't beat around the bush. If you want something fancy where the menu describes baked beans as "sautéed haricot in a sunblushed tomato jus" or fried eggs described as "free range, hand harvested eggs from rescued rare breed hens, gently warmed in a shallow pool of hand pressed Italian olive oil" this is not for you. But it should be. If, like me, you want well cooked food, generously portioned served by friendly staff then The Little Cafe will be right up your street and well worth the visit. It's also worth noting it's dog friendly and we were accompanied during our meal by a very friendly Golden Retriever. Not a problem as we're all dog lovers. Also worth noting is the lack of toilets. Again this might normally be a snag but, due to an agreement with the pub opposite, we were directed to the pub to use their amenities. Staff there were friendly and acknowledged the toilet agreement with the cafe. My wife decided to follow her meal with a fruit scone with butter and jam. She was offered cream but declined due to intolerances. The scone was a good size, and I mean "a good size", not what passes for a good size these days. Butter wasn't in a little foil pack either and the jam portion was generous. We left just before closing time and were suitably full. For all four of us the meal was just under £30. An absolute bargain in this day and age! It has to be said it was like going back 20 years, when these types of cafés were commonplace. Now they're few and far between. The nostalgia that comes from a hearty breakfast, a character behind the stove and a colour to the conversation is palpable. Took me back to my childhood, popping to the greasy spoon with my mum, getting a belly busting brekkie and 10p for a go on the asteroids arcade cabinet. They seemed like much better times where everything was no nonsense. I like no nonsense.

So little there is no toilet!!! Coffee from bean to cup machine is fine. Egg bap cooked by the lady of the house was fine. Clive is a bit off hand. But it does open on a Sunday morning- one of the few in Church S!

I ordered a buffet for 9 people for a joint celebration for the birthdays of my husband and son. I spoke with Jan to go through what food we wanted etc. The food was delicious, as were the cup cakes. Jan also made a birthday cake (carrot cake) which was utterly delicious and moist (as were the cupcakes). As one of.our number has a dairy intolerance Jan used all dairy free ingredients. And also ensured she asked about any other allergies there might be. There was more than enough food for us. Jan also delivered the food at tge agreed time. I would definitely use them again and I would strongly recommend Jan if you ever need a buffet. It was an absolute pleasure to plan the buffet with Jan she is such a warm.and...

Me and my friends were well chuffed to find The Little Cafe opened for breakfast at 8am on Sundays. We stayed overnight at The Bucks Head for a walking weekend and there was no breakfast option.

TLC offered TLC of the highest order - staff team could not have been more welcoming, particularly the chap on front of house. The food was good quality, plentiful and great value for money.

TLC had only opened the day before our visit and we wish it every success as on the strength of the excellent service we received, it is very...
