We visited on an August bank holiday weekend, Sunday lunchtime, without booking. There were plenty of parking spaces. We were immediately offered a choice of tables and we took a table in the marquee outside. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and the atmosphere was buzzy and cheerful. There were several families, but because the garden is quite spacious it did not feel crowded and wasn't noisy. The food was great and we couldn't believe how fast we were served with slow-roasted pork with crackling and marinated chicken with mashed potatoes. Certainly the fastest service we've ever had in a pub restaurant, 10 minutes max. The bar service was also quick and efficient, especially given the busy weekend, not far from the coast. It was a breezy, cool day, but there were plenty of radiant heaters over all the marquee tables. To our delight, an excellent singer/guitarist, Sam, set up near us, elevating the atmosphere further. Sadly, a very angry neighbour began shouting over the fence, threatening to call the police and the music was stopped. Staff members came to each table to explain and apologise to the disappointed diners, but the friendliness of all present and the supportive conversations between Sam, all the tables around and the cheerful staff was a delightful outcome of a potentially negative situation. The hot chocolate was a delicious alternative to our desert and I had two. In all a thoroughly recommended discovery for us and we'll definitely choose The Oaks again when we're...

The Oaks is situated on a large plot just outside of Highcliffe. It has a large car park at the front of the building, which looks a little tired on first impression. Once inside, the Oaks has been opened up with a large conservatory extension at the rear and enjoys plenty of natural light. The interior is bright and in good order. At the rear of the property is a wide garden laid mostly to patio with extensive outdoor dining area and a gazebo where a pub quiz was in full swing. There are various garden games to amuse you while you wait for your food, or for enjoying afterwards, as we did. The toilets were clean, but strangely, located upstairs, and I didn't see if there was a lift for disabled guests. The staff were attentive and friendly, and we were made to feel important and welcomed at the Oaks. We waited around 35 to 40 minutes for the food, and the restaurant was around half-full. It was a Monday night, and the atmosphere was probably a bit quieter for that reason. Food may take a bit longer on busy nights. The food was tasty when it arrived, and the twice-cooked chips were excellent. I ordered a medium fillet steak, which arrived well done, but this was noticed by the manager, who was on his game. My steak was replaced with a fresh one cooked to perfection within seven minutes and was tender, juicy and delicious. The manager subsequently discounted our bill for our inconvenience, which was a nice touch. All in all, a very enjoyable evening, and I would definitely...

Update : Jan 2020 We have returned, on at least 6 further occassions & shall continue to do so. They offer great food at a competitive price - Sunday lunch/dinner is certainly value for money, & it's nice to relax and enjoy it after a busy week. 😊 We have never been disappointed with the food & staff offer a very good, friendly & pleasant service experience... Thank you! ... Love the Queen's Head in Weybridge, hence The Oaks was a perfect choice for our daughter's 15th birthday dinner with Mum & Dad. Very welcoming staff, nice decor, comfy seats. Food was very nice. Our daughter had one of her favourites, gammon steak, which was perfectly cooked & delicious! She'll no doubt be requesting a return visit very soon ... perhaps Sunday lunch or dinner 👍🏻🙂 Our serving staff were extremely polite & friendly. ... The only problem we experienced relates to food allergies/intolerances. A meal was served containing food that staff had been informed would cause a severe adverse reaction. Luckily it was spotted, by us, prior to being consumed. It was an unfortunate situation, I just hope that staff training surrounding the importance of food intolerances is reiterated... please! ... We had to re-select one main meal, (we weren't charged for the returned meal), - went for steak frites for speedy preparation - It was truly delicious! Would be very happy to have that again. Problem aside, we would definitely recommend a visit to this establishment - we shall be returning,...

I used to be head breakfast chef in a five star hotel, so I am quite hard to please.....I went here for Sunday lunch today. I walked in out of the very cold day to a very warm and clean interior. The welcome was very warm too, from the front of house lady, Alina, who was very professional, courteous, friendly, kind and caring. Just a lovely person. The rest of the staff were also very good, friendly, attentive and aware. I ordered the roast chicken. It was just right in terms of quality and quantity, and all cooked very well, very satisfying, and with the added bonus of unlimited roast potatoes, Yorkshire pud, and gravy. A nice touch, which I availed myself of, to the extent I felt I needed to walk for two hours after lunch along the beautiful Highcliffe coastline nearby. The desert was a new and innovative twist on apple crumble, again, a nice sized portion, and cooked very well, delicious. I dine out often, and in a varied assortment of venues. I would not hesitate to say that this was my best experience currently of Sunday roast dining. They have a very good balance here of efficiency and friendliness, good food and good atmosphere. A class act overall, in my opinion, I shall certainly be returning. 10/10.

Really lovely interior design, bright, well-ventilated, and a lovely atmosphere. Outdoor space is open and bright, with shady beach huts and a covered area available to escape direct sunlight if desired. Service unfortunately took a very long time, but it appeared that all the staff were rushed off their feet, so this was clearly through no fault of their own. A point of consideration for management as to how to ease this burden on their staff perhaps. The menu has a wide selection. I opted for the smoked pork belly with rhubarb (pictured). Flavour was nice, although I wouldn't describe it as mindblowing, and I was a bit disappointed with the size of the portion of this dish, especially considering the price. The portion sizes of the other members of my party appeared to be slightly more appropriate however. The staff were all very polite, courteous and friendly, and made sure that we were looked after well during our visit. In summary, The Oaks probably wouldn't be that high on my list were I choosing a place to go for a meal in the future for a special occasion, but if someone else were to choose it I definitely wouldn't complain either.

Thank you to the management and staff of The Oaks. We had the best dining experience with you today. The food was absolutely delicious and the service was exceptional. We visited today (Easter Sunday) which was obviously fully booked and very busy. However we were treated so kindly. One of our party has a couple of food allergies but the service staff were all very helpful and accommodating around this, and made extra sure that our meals were prepared with this in mind. Despite it being very busy we were warmly looked after by the waiters and waitresses, we weren't rushed at all and were given plenty of time to enjoy our lovely meals. Nothing seemed to much bother, and all served with a smile and great enthusiasm and care. A special mention must go to our waitress Alina who really looked after us and made sure we were made comfortable in one of the many Huts outside so that we could enjoy our lunch in a nice quiet area. The food was absolutely fantastic, and very fairly priced Thank you all once again, we are very much looking forward to visiting The Oaks again soon.
