The Old Bank Rothwell — Restaurant in England

I really enjoyed our visit to the Old Bank yesterday. The decor was modern, I love the bank vault you see upon entry, and there was a very busy and lively atmosphere. The food was faultless - we shared mezzes to start, baked houmous, garlic mushrooms and falafel. The baked houmous was so creamy and tangy and the mushrooms were delicious. I could have eaten a whole plate of that alone. I had a salad bowl and my partner had the aubergine bake for mains and we both very much enjoyed them, my salad was fresh and filled with sliced onion, tomato, olives and chickpeas, it was delicious. The staff were really attentive and saw to us quickly, they also were knowledgeable on allergens as we asked about dairy free options and were informed quickly about what we could eat. On a Friday night you might struggle a bit to find parking, we did, but did manage to park a little further away eventually. We will certainly be going back, and would recommend to those who love...

The building is beautiful but that's about it. The bucket chairs are not suitable for any bum over a size 14 so not size inclusive. The service was mediocre at best. The food was promising but did not deliver on taste or portion size, an absolute pile of tasteless rice/ bulgar wheat and very dry main. The "mixed veg" was a mushroom, an onion and a green pepper... And the falafel was like no other falafel I have ever had and not in a good way.As a foodie this meal upset me. we did make our feelings clear at the time but they were not really taken in. Another great lunch meal

Been coming here over a year and there lunch time price is great value for money 2 couses for £10 the chicken is tasty and marinated well and the starter mushrooms are tasty as the spicy sausage and haloumi. Have tried the seabass here too which was nicely done. The woman that runs it is very nice and accomodating. It is usually busier in evenings but if you want quieter lunch time is great for that plus great value. The decor is clean modern and fresh and a very comfy restaurant. Keep up...
